you watch a ridiculous amount of movies. my guess is you are either unmarried or are one of the lucky ones that has a partner who's into horror as much as you are. either way i'm very, very jealous. lol

Films I have watched in the past 2 days:

Fear of the Dark: Fell asleep while watching this one. Maybe a good idea behind it. The individual fears where interesting. Over all not scary and predictable.

Jack Frost: HAHAHAHA this film was funny. The comments that Jack Frost made where just silly. The plot laughable. However I will never turn my back on a snowman again lol.

Candyman: Out of all these films this was the best and I think I acctually enjoyed this film. It was a decent watch and a good wee story.

Non-horror: Just friends, boring lol. Watched this due to the rest of the audience being non horror fans. Had an odd moment where a smile escaped my lips but all in all standard guy gets girl film.

Bad Moon-

Campy, cheesy.... in a fantastically fun way. It's great to see the dog as a hero in films again.

7.5/10

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning-

WOO! Great chainsaw kills, and it showed every minute of them. I hated the ending, although it was necessary.

8/10

Ps, I hate the stupid family, everything about them is just retarded...

Dog Soldiers- 10/10

I'm one of the 'lucky ones'...My guy AND my kids are into horror...We watch horror movies literally every day...But, it's not as easy with the baby now, he likes to play with the TV while we're trying to watch movies...lol

Last night (or more like early this morning, which is kind of OUR 'last night') we watched Kingdom Hospital, and part of Riget (AKA The Kingdom)...We can't watch all of Riget at one time because of the subtitles...The baby won't let us pay close enough attention to read the whole movie...The boys watched Children Of The Living Dead

I hate to admit it, because I LOVE Stephen King...But, Riget really is better than Kingdom Hospital...Which is what I had heard from many people before I watched them...Although I LOVE the way that King weaved his accident into the Kingdom Hospital storyline

AsylumSeeker 03-30-2007 12:54 PM

I watched The Gate again. I must be getting old and nostalgic. Gate, Ghoulies, Gremlins...the G movies of my teens.

Dustin: Dead End, Dead And Breakfast, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Dawn Of The Dead (original), Return Of The Living Dead, Langoliers

Seri: Thirteen Ghosts, Poltergeist, Rose Red...She prefers the ghostly stuff

Alex: Ju-on, Ju-On 2, Infection, Evil dead, Evil Dead 2, Army Of Darkness, Gates Of Hell, Bad Taste, Salem's Lot

Jordon: Nightmare On Elm Street, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Child's Play, Saw, Saw 2, Saw 3, Are You Scared?

Ash: He'll sit and watch anything that's fast-paced and colorful, he especially likes the movies that have a metal soundtrack...The kid LOVES metal

As for me...I love WAY too many of them...I couldn't even BEGIN to name favorites...But, I tend to lean toward the zombies more than anything else

Right now the boys are watching AVP, and we are getting ready to watch...umm...something that we haven't decided on yet :)

Just watched
John Carpenter: The Man and his Movies
Interesting documentary. Nothing breakthrough, but some really good interviews with Kurt Russell, Jamie Lee and others.
B

and

Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film

Excellent documentary! Tons of gore, a great history lesson, well directed and an excellent addition to any slasher fan's library.

thats great! i know my love of horror comes from my mum getting me from school and taking me to the shop to buy sweeties and rent a horror. not every day, but once or twice a week. no way should i have been watching that shit at 8,9 or 10 years old, but it shows that all that shit about kids immitating t.v. is absolute bollocks. i'm mister normal. ahhh! great times [swallows lump]:)

Mictlantechutli 03-30-2007 04:42 PM

Blood Simple
The Coen Bros. first film. Still great fun to watch, their style was so much more Sam Raimi-(their friend & mentor)-esque back then.

Ultraviolet

Corny and obviously made for the money, but.. I liked it, the fight scenes were sufficient and cool, as well as the weaponry, so, i'll give it a decent...

Just saw "Hellraiser" for the first time. Much better than the horrendous 3rd, 4th, and 5th installaments. Still need to see part 2, though.

Part 2 is almost as good as the first one. Alot more surreal, but still pretty good. Head-and-shoulders above #3, thats for sure.

Just watched "Dead Meat" the other night, not bad. The zombie cow was an interesting twist.

Fantastic Four.

slayer666 03-31-2007 05:00 AM

Children of Men. Did not care for it at all. It was a clockwatcher (as in I kept watching the clock hoping it would hurry up and end). Boring.

yourlastmistake 03-31-2007 05:48 AM

Choking Hazard... a zombie movie from the Czech Republic. More of a comedy than horror.

I have a lot of free time on my hands, that's why I usually watch so many.
Just watched Spawn.

Posher778 03-31-2007 09:12 AM

Dark Ride

It was interesting, and a little bit goofy. This movie pissed me off so bad, because this setting is one of my favorites for a horror film! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't BAD or anything, but it had so much unfulfilled potential! It needed to be different, the buildup was great, and the atmosphere was really scary, but, it didn't work out right. The killer should have waited in position in parts of the ride and slashed them when they walked by or something. My main problem was that it showed what the killer was doing a lot, and that made it almost negative scary, because this one should have been based on fear, not as much what the killer was doing. All in all it was ok, but it was not *to die for*

I'll admit that my expectations were probably too high by that point, though

EDIT:...I was talking about City Of The WALKING Dead (AKA Nightmare City) here, which is Lenzi, not Fulci...Fulci's City Of The LIVING Dead is AKA Gates Of Hell, which we love...Sorry for the confusion...I REALLY need to start sleeping

I hope I cleared that up...I'm feeling quite a bit like a zombie lately...and NOT a Fulci or Lenzi zombie either...A very slow, lazy, brain dead, early Romero zombie...lol

AsylumSeeker 03-31-2007 12:16 PM

Being stuck home sick can sometimes rock! In the last few days I've watched some old faves

Dead and Breakfast
Cemetery Man
The Prophecy
The Gate
Ghoulies
Gremlins

and some newer ones

Memories of Murder (great movie, but slow for the real gore types)
After Midnight (really, really dated and not terribly good)
Art of the Devil (worst dubbing ever)

Got another day on the couch coming up.

crabapple 03-31-2007 02:26 PM

Sat down and watched "Mr. Sardonicus" for my cheerful morning viewing. Still a nice horror movie, still effective and warped. Nice digital remastering, sound was exceptionally clear, cool extras on the disc. William Castle rocks.

swiss tony 03-31-2007 04:25 PM

just watched don't look now. not even sure if its a horror. it does have a great ending and good acting. but by far the most disturbing thing is donalds wrinkly old ass. yikes!

joshaube 03-31-2007 04:56 PM

Eddie and the Cruisers
Very shoestring plot with a lot of musical sections making up most of the film. You could condense this movie into 3 minutes, but it would loose it's distinct feel. Great music, interesting movie.

Dark Ride
Wasted potential. Bits of it reminded me of a second-grade Ho1000C - but that might have been due to the heavy blue and red shades used in a majority of the scenes.

bloody_ribcut 03-31-2007 05:47 PM

The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007)

Fucking horrible. There wasn't a single likable character, logic was completely ignored and it may be the single most insulting depiction of our fighting mena and women I've ever seen. Sure they're the National Guard, butthese days that means you need to be ready for war, and if our troops were this retarded, we'd have been overrun decades ago.

That said, there was some pretty good gore and bonus points for the opening sequence...

************SPOILER*****************

squirm-worthy child delivery scene complete with baby erupting from a prosthetic vagina... totally tasteless, it made me giggle a little and gave me false hope for a total gorefest.

******END SPOILER****

So good gore plus shitty story and STUPID CHARACTERS =
