(Black Christmas came out a full 4 years ahead of Halloween but incorporated much of the same camera techniques that Halloween gets credit for. It is also, as far as I've seen, the first slasher film that was done in manner that resembles what we still see today.) Although, LHotL was a few years ahead of it, I wouldnt exactly think of that as a slasher film. (I certainly do credit Craven for having some balls back then though.) |

Like I said that goes to Clark and Carpenter, at least imo. p.s. I often get Black Christmas and Sunday mixed up which is why I said Bava rather than Clark. |
