I just had the random idea pop in my head that it would be cool to see an R rated version of the Wizard of Oz that is much darker, violent, and psychedelic.

The Emerald City would be entirely steampunk inspired and the poppy field leading to it would actually be acknowledged as a poppy field rather than just a field of flowers.

I would want it to take place during WWII and rather than Dorothy being a spoiled brat who is running away from home she could be a worker like any other girl her age during the depression.

I think it would be a neat idea.

Sounds cool! She's not helping in the war effort, she doesn't care about Fascism or freedom... just clothes, shoes and boys. And the world of Oz has constant symbolic representations of Fascism and the horrors of war.

yeah Id want it to be something like Alice In Wonderland meets A Clockwork Orange

Its kinda like the videogame Alice: madness returns where it is a dark/violent version of a fairytale that feature grim topics such as murder, rape and the exploiting of children. I would watch the hell out of that.
