They were still sold out of The Departed, so I went for the next best thing. Kind of wanted to see the original first anyway...

So what did you think of the original?

And why didn't you post it in the asian forum!?

Demons

It's silly, gory, fun, and oh so 80s. Put a smile on my face.

The Grudge 2

Blech! I thought this sucked about as much as I thought the first one sucked. The plot was dumb, the acting was decent, the gore was nonexistent & it kept introducing new characters only to kill them off a few minutes later. I just don't find anything scary about quick passing glimpses of little blue kids or a boiling bathtub full of brown water. The only redeeming quality this movie had at all was that the ending was slightly better than I expected.

Flushed Away

This was alright, but not in the same league as Finding Nemo or Toy Story. There were a few 'in' jokes and of course, a moral to the story. The animation was good, but it's becoming so commonplace that it no longer impresses me that much. The voice acting was fine & the slugs were funny. I was moderately entertained by it.

I loved the first scene and I wanted to like the rest of the movie but I fell asleep shortly after SMG's suicide jump. pretty boring movie...

Yeah, the first scene was alright, but it spiraled downhill from there. This movie actually put me to sleep twice before I got through the whole thing.

Not quite as fucked as I'd expected it to be...but, yknow nothing really resembling a half decent plot. SOME alright stunt coreography, but even that wasn't great..The acting...I don't even know if you can call it that...it was "ok", and kids might like it, but yknow, can't say I'll ever watch it again.
Funny how much harder Uwe Boll seems to try, and even with a bigger budget, can't make something half as good as this...that's saying a lot.

Angra 02-22-2007 04:31 AM

"Evil bong" 3/10

Hahahahahaha, I was at the video store awhile back and saw that.

As bad as it looks, eh?

I almost rented Evil Bong last time I was at Hollywood. Glad I opted for Idiocracy instead.

Yes.

Mostly because of a very bad storyline.

Too bad, coz it had some funny characters and a fitting cast. But the dialogue and one-liners just wasn't funny enough for it to be a goofy enjoyable horror flick. Instead it just got kinda tride after 15 minutes..

VampiricClown 02-22-2007 06:14 AM

Are You Scared

Can you say, "SAW II"? Well, this movie was pretty much a cheap knock-off of Saw II and it didn't pull it off. Usually I like this low budget horror flicks, but not this paticular one.

4/10

Angra 02-22-2007 06:18 AM

"The hills have eyes" 2006. 7-8/10

As i expected, much, much better than the original.

Would have liked it even more if it wasn't for the cruel "trailer activity" part in the middle of the movie. That brought back unwelcomed memories from "Devils rejects" and just irritated the hell out of me to watch through. But the hunt for the baby afterwards was absolutely awsome.

Agreed, too bad he hardly had any screen time.

Decent movie though, I enjoyed it.

My thoughts exactly.

A little odd concidering the fact that it's based on a marvel comic.

"Man With The Gun" (1955)

A stranger comes to town looking for his estranged wife. He finds her running the local girls. He also finds a town and sheriff afraid of their own shadow, scared of a landowner they never see who rules through his rowdy sidekicks. The stranger is a town tamer by trade, and he accepts a $500 commission to sort things out.

Despite a very good cast (led by Robert Mitchum) this film is just an average "B" movie western. Not bad, but not all that great

phantomstranger 02-22-2007 02:48 PM

"Ghost Rider" (2007)

Much to my surprise, this was a pretty good movie. I had very low expectations. but I ended up enjoying this film quite a bit. Even with Nic Cage channeling the spirit of Elvis. Good FX and a fun story. Sam Elliot was terrific as "The Caretaker" and Eva Mendes is one smokin' hot woman. A good movie all around.
