HA! I like this kid.

You'd hate me if you saw how I was on the forum I just left. A lot of people knew me (and only a few liked me), but I knew I was a huge ass, so I want to not be one here.

I've been looking for a good cider! I've only tried two so far: Angry Orchard and Redd's. Redd's is terrible. Still want to try Cidre. And, while looking on my local huge liquor store's website, saw an Irish cider that I have to try. Can't remember the name of it right now.....I think it was called Kelly's Irish Cider.

I've been trying a lot of cider recently too!! I've been trying to find the perfect balance between the sweeter ciders like Woodchuck and Angry Orchard and the dryer ciders like Crispin. This is really good middle ground!

I haven't tried Redd's but I'll steer clear - Let me know if you find one you'd recommend!

Picked this up this weekend on our trip to Vermont - Boyden Valley Winery's Riverbend Red. It's like a Pinot Noir but this is slightly peppery than usual.

Currently drinking as I'm back from a lovely long weekend and sour that I need to work tomorrow. waaaaaaa ::mad::

They also make a maple and an apple maple creme liquor. both were quite lovely.

I also managed to pick up a case of this:

Apparently it's a big deal; only delivers a handful of cases to certain shops on certain days of the week. Haven't broken into it, yet. I'll continue with my wine for now.

horcrux2007 11-05-2014 06:28 PM

I'm drinking apple juice ::stick out tongue::

ferretchucker 11-07-2014 06:24 AM

Had a few of these lovely buggers last night. Despite the name "Boston Tea Party" stirring up some bitter memories for the Brit in me, I did thoroughly enjoy it.

Maple Ice wine from a winery in Vermont. Cheers!

Dead Bad Things 12-26-2014 07:14 PM

So is that made from grapes or sap?

ChronoGrl 12-26-2014 07:52 PM

Apples and maple sugar actually. Usually I find dessert wines too sweet, but this one is just lovely. Here's the description from the site:

The classic taste of Vermont captured in wine

For over half a century the Boyden family has honored Vermont’s spring tradition of maple sugaring. Now we are pioneering a new tradition: crafting that maple sugar into an amazing dessert wine, Gold Leaf. Barrel-aged for two years in Tonnelier French Oak barrels, Gold Leaf possesses great depth and complexity combining supreme estate maple syrup and locally grown apples. As an aperitif or after-dinner wine, it has an exquisite mouth feel and delicate yet pronounced maple flavor with overtones of vanilla, toasted nuts and coconut. Gold leaf is at its best served over ice, paired with apple crisp, Cinnamon cheesecake, vanilla crème brulee.

::cool::

And I guess that's the Karen Carpenter bottle design too.

Been wanting to try that for years. What do you think? How's it taste to you? And you feel anything unique?

Dead Bad Things 12-27-2014 07:10 PM

I like Absinthe a lot! Tastes like Anise or Black Licorice kinda...I mix it alotta Absinthe, a little water a little ice no sugar.....after a few rounds or so I mix more water less Absinthe...My experience is that is does have psychotropic effects::cool::and it also has a high alcohol%::smile::Good Stuff!

Rampant IPA New Belgium

anglewitch 02-10-2015 03:51 AM

I remember the time when I was only four, my mom and dad were having a party and they ran out of beer so they went to get some more. they left a bottle on the table and I saw it. I thought that it was soda so I took a big gulp, and it took me half an hour to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.

BLEAH!

Dead Bad Things 02-12-2015 05:23 PM

anglewitch 02-12-2015 05:24 PM

And to where did they leave?

Dead Bad Things 02-12-2015 06:04 PM

Bootleggin'

anglewitch 02-12-2015 07:27 PM

They are going to have such a hangover.::big grin::::roll eyes::::shocked::

Dead Bad Things 02-12-2015 07:34 PM

Speakin' like a non drinker there my friend....the trick is gettin buzzed as much and as long as possible with no hangover! I aint had one in years!

anglewitch 02-12-2015 07:37 PM

That's what makes it fun. Listening to you grown ups talk about beer is ridiculously funny for some reason.

Dead Bad Things 02-12-2015 07:43 PM

Grownups? More like alcoholics::big grin::Seriously tho don't touch the stuff it's poison....

anglewitch 02-12-2015 07:45 PM

Another reason why I stay away from it.

I remember when I had a taste of hard cider, again BLEAH.
