Scarface

That dude has a serious attitude problem which starts getting pretty damn funny after you've seen it enough times.

Well, it failed that.

I'm watching Grandma's boy right now.

Miss Olivia 02-01-2007 02:42 AM

Near Dark.
I love it.

slayer666 02-01-2007 03:38 AM

Network.

Excellent flick, and I can't believe I hadn't seen it before.

Sure you did, Urge.

But thatīs just because your hero-nerd from Napoleon Dynamite was in it. ;)

I admit that Jon Heder played that geek role to an A+
David Spade on the other hand, was unfunny as usual, while Rob Schneider was...... Pretty much himself.

The only part that had me laughing out loud was the robot butler shouting "DONīT TOUCH ME!!" to Heder. Well, that and Jon Lovitz showing off his tittytwisted nipples.

"Kraken - tentacles....." 6/10

I really donīt understand why Roderick is so ashamed of his movies??

Except for the last 15 minutes i found Kraken to be a pretty decent horror flick only suffering from the rather poor squid-attack scenes. The squid swimming looked cool though.

Now, i havenīt seen "Gryphon" yet, but what "Kraken" and "mammoth" have had in common is above average (Iīm tempted to say good) acting.

Oh, and iīm sure the line "Iīm gonna need a bigger boat", in the beginning of Kraken, was Rodīs idea. ;)

This Film is Not Yet Rated
Great expose of a closed system and a fun film. It was so disruptive to the MPAA that they have recently moved toward greater transparency.

Oh - and I live one block from the MPAA building - wierd seeing your neighborhood documented so heavily.

Eat Drink Man Woman.
I really liked this movie, it was moving and entertaining, and I loved the twists in it. Not my typical kind of movie, but a good one all the same.

"Lady in the water" 5/10

Tsk, tsk, tsk....... Yet another fucked up movie from Sir Shyamalan.

Would like to see him make a movie without a single twist in it. Just see him do SOMETHING else.

saw it blind - we were supposed to see something else but it was sold out - saw this one instead.

big pleasant suprise..

I guess I was disappointed because Billy gave it this big buildup how freakin' hilarious it was, and I didn't think it was funny at all.

DP McCoy 02-01-2007 11:45 AM

Dead&Breakfast-

The Flesh and the Fiends

Cushing was brilliant as usual.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare

What an awesome, awesome movie. Almost as good as the original IMO, definatly better than all the sequels.

Yeah! Finally threw down another franchise:D. Gonna go for Halloween in a couple months...

Babel (2006)

Very, very, very, very, very good. One of the best of the year. The storytelling techniques and disturbingly real thematic elements are both visually and mentally arresting.

It's going to be a close race this year come Best Picture time...

XĪMurderDollĪX 02-01-2007 08:21 PM

A Scanner Darkly

I thought it was less than average. All the parts that didn't involve Rory Cochrane, Woody Harrelson or Robert Downey Jr. were just painfully boring. I think it could have been waaaaaay better.

Apparantly I don't "get" the movie, but I'm pretty sure I do... I wouldn't recommend renting it.

AUSTIN316426808 02-01-2007 10:34 PM

Factotum

I really didn't know anything about this movie other than Matt Dillon was in it and my younger brother was an extra in a couple scenes. I was surprised to find that I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The comedic timing seemed great to me even though it's not really a comedy. It's more of a drama with some bits of comedy mixed in, but I think it worked well.

did it give any kind of advantage to the story - enable them to do special effects or something ?

i just think its a style choice that works once ... and thats it..

I think it worked very well actually. Yeah, it helped with a lot of special effects but it helped the overall feel the most.
