Attack the Block (2011) - When I was watching I didn't realize that it was from the producers of Shaun of the Dead, and it felt really similar (not as good) but the same vibe was being given off. It was a fun movie, not scary, sometimes it was funny, sometimes it gave a little message about race/class. But overall, it didn't stick with one thing, which I think hurt it, because it felt kind of messy. It was a fun watch though. If you're a fan of Shaun of the Dead, give this a try.

LOVE this film. That woman is so CRRRAZZY! Saw this a few years back in one of my film classes and have been recommending it to everyone who hasn't seen it.

"Quantez" (1957)
-Fred MacMurray, Dorthy Malone

Plot: Classicflix

John Coventry,and a gang of robbers trying to escape the law and cross the Mexican border.. The outlaws manage to elude the law and navigate the rough terrain, but the flight comes to a dangerous halt in the mysterious abandoned town of Quantez.

Coventry and company are forced to stave off an Indian attack. As their enemies get closer, tempers flare, betrayals set in, and lines are drawn between the men.

Phantom's Review: Very well acted character drama with an interesting concept. The only problem with this film is that it's almost totally action less and when some action does happen (towards the end) it feels forced. Not a bad movie, just not all that great.

Savage Streets-average US revenge style exploitation film with Linda Blair (the bitch from the Exorcist)doing an ample job given the limited dialogue/acting/exploitation. Ok I'm being mean there was one disturbing scene but that's nothing compared to other exploitation pix. I have no idea whether this film was meant to be fun or taken serious-I suppose your view on that will depend on how much you enjoy watching Linda Blair having a catfight with a cheerleader with naked chicks in the showers.

Yeah, Gloria Swanson was incredible in that film! She conjures so many feelings in the viewer toward her character; it's really astounding. I love how Billy Wilder turns Hollywood in on itself, even in the casting, most people playing themselves or versions of themselves: Gloria Swanson, a silent film star; Erich von Stroheim, a German silent film director; Buster Keaton, silent film star; Hedda Hopper, gossip columnist; Cecil B. DeMille; etc. Really just an endlessly fascinating and brilliant work.
