Somewhat borrowed the idea from Frequency and then made a fine twisted horror-thriller out of it where a ghost from the past seriously affecting troubled life of an young woman. Interesting thing I liked the idea how they nicely carried the story till the end where the 'ghost' has a very little screen presence from start to finish. An elderly woman's creepy voice over coming from the other end of that cool old telephone set mostly done the job effectively. Liked the gloomy & dark setting of the film also. Overall, it was a pretty decent watch but I was expecting nothing particular but some freaking twists at the end where that old telephone set at least should ring one final time at the last shot.

Pretty slow burn but a decent drama-thriller about the conception of always go with the 'common safe guarded Popular opinion' among today's youth.

A Horrible Way to Die (2011)

A serial killer Garrick has escaped imprisonment and is on the run with a killing spree. His ex..Sarah is trying to get her life back, moving to a new place, and attending Alcoholics Anonymous group meetings to deal with her alcoholism. She begins to feel comfortable enough as she starts dating a fellow AA member.

The story was pretty simple with a little twist at the end and that actually made it bit interesting but that only runs in last 10 to 15 minutes. The credit goes to the main actors who done their job quite convincingly.

But the film has a major problem. And that's the camera works. Yeah...it was one of those 'art-house' feel like films that got the misplaced, unnecessary & annoying type of camera works...The camera was rarely steady, it went in and out of focus so many times that it was frustrating to watch. Always zoom in & out, too much closeup shots in everywhere & nowhere and especially somewhat like someones staking or following the characters all the time. I don't know why people make films like this way? Probably to add an extra depth in to the characters in order to 'realize or feel' their pains or sufferings..blah-blah...I don't have a clue or give a damn; perhaps this is a non-conventional 3D approach. Or perhaps it was meant to be artistic but it failed horribly. The thing is here the director used a hand held camera approach and personally I don't hate the 'shakey cam' style in a POV/ found footage or documentary film. But this isn't a POV/FF or documentary sort of film, so I don't get the idea why the hell they need to went with this approach that would eventually ruined the film for most of genre film viewers?! I'm sure there wasn't a single tripod, pedestal or track used in the film. The camera jerked all over the place most of the time....A Horrible Way to Film for a director as well as A Horrible Way to watch a film & follow what's happening in it for the viewers!

last movies i watched where:
- urban legend
- urban legend's 2 final cut
- urban legend's 3 bloody Mary

least to say the fist one wasn't great but i felt that it was the best of the bunch, with the second one following how most sequels do and fall off a bit, wasn't as entertaining as first to say the least. the third one wasn't too bad i think it gave the trilogy a welcomed breath of fresh air and semi made up for the poor proformance of UL2.

Looking forward to this. Hope I'm not too hyped to for it though - an actual decent MMA fighter (though there seems to be a ton of em in there anyway)..

Is Kurt Angle the main bad guy? Same they gave the role to a pro wrestler rather than an actor or real fighter. But I reserve judgment til i see it.

Yeah he plays the big bad russian that's like never been defeated.

I get your point but at least with Kurt, he's still an olympic gold medalist. Thats at least better then if The Rock of Hulk Hogan were in there. Imagine if it had been Fedor Emelianenko though? Kurt's character seemed like a movie version of him anyway.
