Two awesome documentaries...
Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown (2008) http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...ecraftDocu.jpg >>: A Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film (2006) http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...lasherFilm.jpg >>: A- Quote:
But lately I got a sms & e-mail from my internet provider & they just informed me that (to ensure a minimum level of smooth connection to its all users) if I download more than 30 GB in a month then they'll slow down the speed drastically to 128 kbps for the rest of that month!! That sucks! as I've already downloaded more than 22 GB this month so far.:( |

36th Precinct [36 Quai des Orfevres] (2004)
http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...hPrecinct1.jpg A pretty good cop drama from France. Great to see beautiful Valeria Golino after quite a long time. >>: B+ Super 8 (2011) http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...hdc/SUPER8.jpg One of the best films of the year so far, IMO. Loved the 80's set up & loved its beautiful & simple story that delivered a fantastic homage to Spielberg's 2 best creations to date. But the interesting thing is while watching & enjoying the film last night, I cared pretty less for a major element of the story...the alien. I really wasn't that much bothered about it...when it'll show up next time on the screen or why it's acting so crazy or what would happen to it later. The thing is the heart of the movie is it's assembling of excellent bunch of child actors who totally carried the film all the way. It's not the alien; it is the character of Joe Lamb and the other kids in the cast who delivered the magic & kept the nostalgic momentum throughout the film. Kudos to them for their marvelous job. >>: A- The Gate (1987) http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/...dhdc/Gate1.jpg Love those adorable little demons.:D >>: B+ |
Quarantine 2: Terminal
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...er-535x792.jpg It follows the same basic formula as the first except without the found footage technique which may be a good idea since that genre has become over saturated. However i feel it is a part of what made the first one as good as it was. I like that it is going on its own instead of just continuing to remake REC but if they're shooting for a franchise i just dont see what else they can do from this point on and still make it fresh and exciting. Besides that, the characters were annoying and the acting was pretty bad. Good effort but a bad job in the end. I prefer REC 2. |
A Nightmare on Elm Street, the remake. Damn you HBO for have this movie on and me being to lazy to turn it off!!

Watching a DVD of Aliens as we speak. The tubed Facehugger just tried to..."kiss", Burke. Endlessly rewatchable.

Rise of The Planet of The Apes
http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/...R00214317_.jpg Incredible. I thought the first part was a little fast but after awhile i just didnt care. This movie is awesome. SPOILERS:At the "Damn Dirty Ape" part everyone in the theater started laughing until Caesar screamed "NO!" Everyone was instantly quiet. I havent seen a reaction like that in the theaters in a long time.END OF SPOILERS |
