Really enjoying this album,I've had it on repeat for the last few days and it's a belter. This band had somehow passed me by until now,I'm going to have to listen to some of their back catalogue.

Love The National-I highly recommend you listen to "High Violet" and "Boxer" great stuff.

Easily my favorite record from his solo work. I actually prefer it to some of his stuff with The 13th Floor Elevators. The CD reissue comes with this really fascinating booklet. There's also a really interesting documentary about him you might want to check out (if you haven't already) called You're Gonna Miss Me named after the The 13th Floor Elevators song.

Yeah it's the most consistently good album out of his solo stuff. I love the Elevators but listen to the Evil One more. Will have to check out the new Light in the Attic reissues. I've got the LP Sympathy For The Record Industry put out a few years back. Enjoyed that documentary although it's quite sad seeing how he deteriorated.
