I was really excited about the original but it was really disappointing to me. It was just straight up dumb and all the humor just didn't work for me. It just didn't deliver what it promised IMO but each to their own.

Danielle Harris rules. A true modern Scream Queen if ever there was one.

I get that, the humor bothered me too. That's why my brother didnt like it either. In that aspect i can understand why you like the second one.

Danielle Harris is amazing and like you said a true Scream Queen in an era severely lacking in such. Now i think i'm gonna have to go watch the Halloween Remake. She saved that thing for me. ;)

I am surprised you haven't seen it yet.

You will love it. A very interesting film with a rather unique premise.

Nikutai no mon (Gate of Flesh) (1964)

An absolutely incredible film; a perfect combination of pulp drama, historical comment, and wild stylization. Probably my favorite Suzuki, which is saying a lot.

Well, that's one of the great things about this place. Interesting movies is being mentioned all the time that i've never heard of. I just can't keep up at the moment.

Thank god my summer vacation is coming up in 2 weeks.

Vanishing on 7th Street

would have worked better as a short in an anthology. Hayden Christensen must have gone to the Michael Pare school of acting....not very exciting.

Some tension with a bit of atmosphere but as stated above....dragged on too long with NO explanation.

Yeah, in retrospect I totally agree. Check the date on that post, long time ago. Still love Halloween II though...might not be as good as the original, but still miles ahead of most of the other sequels.

...Since, and only since, we're seeing the third one next week...
Transformers.
Not *all that* bad, but lacks the essential feel of the franchise, really it's something I don't think should ever have been bought out of the cartoon world and upon this viewing I still think so.
It's "ok". The fight scenes were pretty jumbled though.
