Replace them with human enemies and call it something like "Invasion of Bin Laden on LA" and it wouldn't have been much different. |

Sebastian (1976)-If you like watching Roman Soldiers fighting and fucking out of sheer boredom then this is the controversial derek jarman film for you! However it would be unfair to dismiss this as simply moderate gay porn-there is an impressive amount of paganism to delight occultists plus there's an opening scene of festivities involving slaves dancing with giant phalluses that just has to be seen to be believed. There is also a reasonable amount of violence and though the martyrdom of sebastian does become tiresome at times, the end image will linger long in the mind.

The last two movies I have seen have not been horror movies. They where:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. I loved the Harry Potter movies but Cloudy with a chance of meatballs where funny in places but just did not work for me, though I usually love quirky science fiction animation films. |
Fast Five
I wasn't expecting to, but I actually found this to be the best out of all the sequels. I liked that it *spoiler* picked up and continues directly from where the 4th one left off *end spoiler*. Considering I actually thought the fourth was among the weakest of the series it was nice to have something with a much better plot this time around, it seems a lot more work was put into the writing. Overall less racing oriented, more focussed on heist stuff, and dipping further into "action" territory - though the vehicle scenes don't disappoint and there's some great fight and chase scenes throughout. Not the stuff of genius but solidly entertaining, big recovery from this series. !For those going to see it, there is a scene at the end of the credits! |
Love Actually.
I know it's not Christmas...but I still love it!!! |

There Will Be Blood (again!) - 10.5/10
Two of the best acted, most breathtaking scenes in movie history! Wake Wood - 7/10 Nice little very British horror. What you would expect from the relaunch of Hammer. If you're a Yank watching this, try not to dismiss it as being run of the mill, try and watch it with the knowledge that it is staying true to our British/Hammer sensibilities. ps. Wicker you've gotta watch this if you haven't already; I know you'll love it! |
