The Illusionist ...got hold of a DVDRip on the net...pretty good drama/mystery

"SPOILER"
...the twist didnt fool me though..guess I have watched to many movies to be taken by surprise...but this "twist" was to easy to guess...otherwise a good quality movie with fine acting, nice atmosphere and pretty good visuals...even though some of the computer effects could have been better.... 7/10

Idiocracy;
A very fun movie that kept my interest throughout. Interesting, entertaining - if your craving comedy or just need a light watch... this is your film.

Last years "Pulse" was a remake of the Asian horror film "Kairo" not the 1988 "Pulse".

The Illusionist;
Like slasherman, I guessed the twist early on - like anyone should be able to, it's not that out-of-the-blue. It's a good film, more romantic then I would assume based on the trailer, and has strong performances throughout. Well crafted and worth the watch. :)

Brought the full array of Carrey into the camera, that one. You liked it?;)

urgeok 01-05-2007 09:09 AM

i've seen it a few times before ..
its a fun movie. My kid really liked it (he's the same age as thr kid is supposed to be in the movie) he really related to the kid and felt for him..
i enjoyed the movie a lot more seeing it through his eyes.

the greatest moment came during the credits when they showed some outtakes.

when the opposing lawyer (swoozie kurtz) and he were exchanging insults in the film, she yells 'overactor'" instead of her real line .. which cracked carrey and everyone else up..

to which he eventually replied " oh no, they're on to me !!"

priceless moment.

Those outtakes were a total riot. Excellent end to a really fun and enjoyable movie. I loved that one with Kurtz, and the other one with Carrey & Krista Allen in the elevator. Touchê.

Loved it. Not as good as Cigarette Burns, but easily one of the best in the series.

TCM: The Beginning
Yes, it could have been loads and loads better... but it was one of the better theatrically released horror films of '06. I like the way these new adaptations are filmed, a real dark and gritty feel.

Not sure what to watch next...
Pulse (2006)? Darkroom? Talladega Nights?
