yah, but if you get enough people on the bus, it can be pretty cheap. Of course, then you have to all put up with each other for a week or two (or three...) or however long you're gone. I used to see a lot of Grateful Dead shows, and I do miss the road trips.

i've always wanted to take a road trip. without my parents. me and my sister had plans to once, but that idea was given up a long time ago.:(

Myself, taken by a friend, when we visited an abandoned NORAD radar facility about 30 minutes from my house.

Really haunting place, I have tonnes of pictures of the inside.

The building itself was very interesting, there is a basement, which is fully flooded, then the main floor, which would have housed the main operations room for the radar, then two full floors above that, and a roof. This was taken on the floor immediately above the Operations floor. The walls had obviously been knocked down by someone in the past.

This next shot was taken in the stairwell between the floor the last shot was on, and the third floor, the ladder seen is going up to the roof.

This next one is the floor of the main operations room, taken from a narrow ledge extending across. This is where all of the larger equipment would have been kept, and monitored. If you look up, you can see what looks like a pedway, with angled metal bars, this was once covered in glass, and the commanders at the base could overlook the operations floor.
