The Taking Of Deborah Logan (2014)
Meh. Concept had potential but they ruined it.
Spoilers
Could have been an original movie on demonic possession if they just went with a dementia/demonic possession combo.
But the addition of the serial killer/ancient Indian ritual/snake magic ruined it.
I think a movie about the killer would have worked a lot better.
There was enough material for a good story around him. I imagine a mix of Sinister and Deliver Us From Evil.

I love when people make horror movies without having a clue how horror works. ::roll eyes::

Lance, don't you have any standars anymore? ::sad::

He's becoming the Nicolas Cage of horror movies. ::big grin::

The old dude has been in anything with a zero budget for the last 10 years. Sad really..

Agreed. That one disappointed me.

I enjoyed the film & Juno Temple's acting was brilliant but the ending was a bit of a let down. 7/10

Michael Cera in a serious movie? This I gotta see.

The Final-it was horrible but I was too committed to turn off when I realized how bad the acting was....part of the After Dark Horrorfest, i thought I had seen them all....when they first came out some of the movies were pretty decent but got shittier and shittier.....

The Others

Did I watch the wrong movie because this was boring as hell. I typically like slower movies like The Babadook and The Exorcist, but at least stuff happened. It had a couple of creepy scenes here and there, but they were never really memorable. The "you're not my daughter scene" just left me with "eh, that was cool, I guess", as well as every other "scary" scene. I also predicted the ending within the first 30 minutes of the movie. This also felt like a very long movie because when the movie wasn't creepy, it was just a lot of uninteresting dialogue. I was expecting a good, suspenseful haunted house movie, but what I got was a forgettable drama.
