The Happening

*SPOILER* Pesky trees ! *END SPOILER*

4/10

Shark Zone

The Sharks in this roared like lions.

4/10

Shark Attack III:Megalodon

The Shark in this growled.John Barrowmen was hilariously unconvincing as the straight hero.

4/10

Mega Piranha

Disappointingly the Pirahna neither roared or growled, what they did do was suck ... but in a curiously enjoyable and entertaining way. This film is exactly what you would expect from The Asylum, ridiculous storyline (Genetically engineered faded 80's pop star bothering giant Pirahna escape into the Orinoco river, head for the ocean, eat people and property for no good reason etc,etc ),terrible special effects, hilariously bad acting, laugh out loud dialogue,OTT set pieces(Pirahnas attack Battleship!) and they even squeeze in a couple of gratuitious tit shots! Epic!

It's crap,but it's fun crap 6/10.

Tell Tale

Not great but not horrible. Only watched b/c of the Poe reference, didnt expect much so wasnt really let down. Worth watching if you have Netflix. I wouldnt go out and spend money on renting it though.

5/10

Oh well

Murder Set Pieces- unfortunately the cut version. Where can I get the movie the way it was supposed to be seen?

The Haunting of Winchester House-only moderately interesting but dont waste your money. If you have Netflix or Zip maybe give it a look

To celebrate my rediscovery of the disc, I just watched a double bill of Halloween 4 and 5.

What did you think of it, I'm not sure if I want to see it, I do because it's Edgar, but I don't because of George Michael....

Defendor (2009). Threatening to be a parody of comic book proportions, Defendor seamlessly becomes a serious and sentimental action flick with comedic overtones. Setting the stage for moral grandstanding, instead this one brings to light both sides of the vigilante question with balanced aplomb. The story was fresh, and any shortcomings were eschewed by the talented cast. Woody Harrison was outstanding in a role that somehow captured the subtle contradictions of a troubled character. Kat Dennings worked with a slightly unbelievable role and brought it to life in an adorably duplicitous fashion. Elias Koteas' role as the nasty antagonist was just as solid. First-time director Stebbings' efforts were rewarded with a memorable flick that should serve as solid vocational stepping stone for further endeavors. Merci beaucoup.
