Yeah man, they're one of my favorites from that era.

I haven't checked out the new Melvins record, but I'll have to give it a spin. What do you think of it?

It's pretty good. Taken me awhile to get into the new Melvins stuff but been appreciating it since I saw them last year. You can get a free download of new one from the people at Scion A/V.

Anyway, they just started taking requests, and the few super fans that were there just kept spitting out b-sides from the 80's and early 90's and Paul would just look at the guys and they'd bust right into it like they had just practiced it yesterday.

Well, when you have two music nerds with similar tastes, there's always a lot of discussion and sharing.

I'm not playing in a group currently. Haven't been able to find the time recently between work and school, which sucks.

What about you?

wizard of gore 04-12-2012 07:54 PM

na im just a music whore, like to go to punk /metal/psychobilly gigs(havnt been to one in fuckin ages since iv moved)and collect records (which i cant really afford)

wizard of gore 04-12-2012 09:00 PM

would be all psychobilly gigs, but most alternate people here only like or know of punk and hardcore or every kind of metal ,so no psychobilly bands come here.gets very boring

Haha, awesome. A lot of them do have great covers.
I absolutely love Hawaiian music from the early 1900s , and that sort of crossed over for me into these post-war Hawaiian records. This one is so fucking 60s, but it's great.

I have some killer comps of that early-1900s Hawaiian stuff. Let me know if you want any of it.

Pretty nice fuzzed-out, psychedelic drone metal from the UK.

I love old calypso, and this Wilmoth Houdini collection is one of my favorites:
