"The Omen" (2006) 7/10

I actually liked it. Not far from being as good as the original.

On the other hand they didn't really do anything new to the story. Just new faces doing the same ol scenes, and i must say the characters/actors in the original was better. Especially the Damien kid.

The strongest parts in this one was definitely the death scenes. Especially the decapitation looked awsome and the death scene in the hospital was delightfully slow and cruel (normally i hate that, but i really dislike that actress).

Interview with the Vampire- Decent film. Some quality imagery and memorable scenes scattered across the film, not a bad score either. Acting is a bit hit and miss and they could've pushed the boat out a bit more when delving into the relationships. Decent gothic/ vampire horror though.

Not bad.

The Night Visitor (1971). This incredible classic has been compared to Bergman and Hitchcock, a comparison that it wholly deserves. This mystery was wonderfully crafted, with a an ending that is more than memorable. Threatening to be a cheezy horror flick, the powerful cast obviates such a contention. The acting was sublime, with Max von Sydow, Liv Ullman, and Trevor Howard giving incredible performances. That score more than keeps the viewer creeped out. The frozen landscape upon which our antihero runs about in his underwear sets the stage for a chilling atmosphere. The direction here was solid, and the end result makes for a wonderful movie experience. Merci beaucoup.

The Curse(2005)


Not too bad if your into the whole blair witch documentary type of horror. It was nonetheless interesting.

wow,they took the book and really WENT with it,huh?
Not what I was expecting.

The kids loved it, thought it was very funny.

Harry Brown: Decent vigilante/ revenge film. Caine puts in a solid peformance as an elderly ex-marine out for revenge, but its a bit too formulaic and doesn't quite capture the gritty reality they were trying to portray. Get Carter it aint, but it was a pretty decent film none the less.

What blew was the story and that most of it took place in the same room.

Don't remember the acting, direction (But i guess it blew), screenplay nor the cinematography.

I somehow always expect some kind of great horror story when Clive Barker is behind it. I don't remember ever to have been positively surprised tho...
