The Swarm. How bad is it? I'm not sure I can find the words to describe this pile of bee shit.Michael Caine seems to be in a 'roid rage half of the time and..seriously,how can any film make Henry Fonda look inept? I have to admit that I love bad movies ..for the badness. This one is incredibly atrocious on almost every level so I'm giving it two thumbs up!

Sherlock Holmes
pretty good...didn't hate it It might be because RD jr is so likable......anybody else in the role may have swayed my opinion. |
"The reeds" 5/10
Didn't hate it, but it didn't really do anything for me. It was just there.... in front of me. Going on. |
"Shutter Island" 7/10
Having read the book i couldn't help feeling a little bored throughout this movie. Coz when you take away all the surprises and mysticism, pretty much all that's left is an awful lot of talking. But Scorsese was spot on with the characters, atmosphere and scenery. Too bad he made the ending too obvious.. He fucked that up big time. :( |
Servants of Twilight
From a Dean Koontz novel. Builds suspense well for the first hour, then it gets all silly and soap operish at the same time. Fairly entertaining. |
"Lake Mungo" 1-2/10
Hated the docu style right away and started fast forwarding after 5 minutes, in hope of finding something remotely horrifying. I found nothing. Nothing climatic. Just a lot of people talking in a calm manner throuhout the entire movie. To sum it up. One word. BOOOORIIIIIIIING!!!! |
"The nightcomers" 5/10
A much needed prequel to "Turn of the screw". It's far from horror, but interesting anyway to see a take on how it all started. My only problem is the death of Peter Quint. In all Turn of the screw adaptions i've seen Peter Quint has comitted suicide by hanging himself. So why the hell did this prequell tell something completely different??? STUPID!!!! |
Started the made for TV series The Kingdom by Lars von Trier. This series is what first got him some notice in Denmark. So far it is like a mix between Lynch and the TV series ER. Six more episodes to go...

Yea, that series was a huge hit in Denmark, i'll tell you that. That year everybody was quoting some of those lines, such as "Det er uhyggeligt.." & "Dansk Jävla!!". To me it was a perfect blend of horror and comedy. Then Trier went on making some more episodes.... he shouldn't have. |
The House of the Devil (2009)
So I've been slack with my posting in this thread of late (partially because I've been too busy to watch much of anything) but this one was just so damn good that I had to post about it. A throwback to 80's classics that feels like it could have been made 25 years ago, yet manages to defy all expectations. Stylish, intellectual, beautifully shot and shockingly well acted...easily the best horror movie I've seen in recent memory. See it. |
