Rise Of The Footsoldier

I heard mainly negative things about this one but I thought it was a entertaining watch. Nowhere near as good as the Pusher flicks but a still fairly decent crime drama.

Sick in bed, no kids, so I watch some movies.

Lost in Austen: awesome, been digging the Jane Austen movies lately, makes me come to the conclusion I have to marry Darcy, yep, that's all there is to it.

Conversations With Other Women: um, didn't get it. The clever camera tricks gave me a headache and didn't save the dismal plot at all...fucking your ex? How insane.

Trancers: as good as the first time I saw it? no- but very good, very cheesy.

Looking for something else to watch...

Trancers rules! Well the ending is a bit lame but whatever.

Du rififi chez les Hommes hommes AKA Rififi (1955). Pretty much your average film noir, except that this is pretty much perfection. This movie takes your typical caper storyline and turns it into pure brilliance. Every scene is a perfectly crafted work of art. The caper itself is infamous in its portrayal and may be the best ever filmed. On a side note the director was blacklisted from Hollywood and had to go to France; this was the result. The acting was sublime, and the singing scene was itself beauty manifest on celluloid. The ending: marvelous. This is simply a crowning achievement for the film industry. Mercie beaucoup.
