I've been obsessively thinking about it all day. I can't get that "babadook" noise out my head.

I enjoyed the original and the cleverness of this one had me hoping for something better but unfortunately all it's merits begin and end with it's cool meta theme and what's left is a boring film thats not about the Moonlight Murders or the original movie and instead is a slow generic badly acted slasher movie with useless characters, annoying self important narration, tons of research, and a bland predictable ending. Theres nothing scary about this one at all which is sad because despite its silly moments, the original was actually pretty creepy. Yet another pointless remake.

3/10

Imo that movie is massively overrated.
I think the concept was average and the movie itself is more psycho-drama than horror.
Bit creepy at times, yes. Scary, no.
But hey, to each his own.

I walked into the movie expecting a drama, and that's pretty much what I got. I was satisfied beyond belief.

I think that's what can ruin any movie: unmatched expectations. Like... when I watched In Fear, I was expecting Blair Witch in a car, but I didn't really get that. Now, if I watched it again, I would probably like it.

Anyway, I was genuinely scared at quite a few scenes, and I thought the premise was just disturbing, which was matched by the fucked up picture book.

It's definitely not a horror movie for everyone. I like horror films with something underneath the surface... {spoilers for The Babadook and The Descent are in white} was the Babadook even there at all, or was the mother just insane and her child just afraid of the "monster under the bed" like any other kid? That's why I love The Decsent: were the crawlers actually in the cave, or did Sarah kill all her friends?

Is this the best horror of 2014?

No One Lives

AWESOME!! Gore, gore, and more gore!! I loved the main actor as Zeus in Immortal and he didn't disappoint me in this role as a psycho.

10/10
