Singapore Sling (1990)

Pretty sickening, bizarre Greek film. Still can't decide whether I liked this or not, whether director Nikolaidis was out for mere shock value or something more, and so found myself bored from time to time. Upon watching, it plays out as a serious of hollow, disgusting set pieces; sexual depravity, violence, insanity, and a muddled mess of a story. However, the film is incredibly well-shot and directed, looking like some twisted, forgotten piece of 40s noir. I might give it some time and watch it again, and hope it speaks to me more than it did on first viewing.

From Dusk Till Dawn. Most nonsensical Vampire movie, ever.

Critters 4

I enjoyed this one for Brad Bourif and the blatant ripping off of the Alien 3 plotline.

I've always meant to check that out. I've laid off the nastier flicks lately so I kinda forgot about it.

I'd definitely at least recommend watching it just to see it as a spectacle.
But it does get pretty nasty.
Like I said, I still can't make up my mind about it.

Wake in Fright

Wow, this was messed up aussie movie, just full on crazy. It makes me feel like giving up drinking for a while, it was just a very harsh look at alcoholism. Donald Pleasance was awesome in his role, he was such a great performer.

9/10

Last Ride

As a movie it is a little slow, though the story is quite dark. The direction was a little simple though which let it down and avoided having any long term impact on the viewer.

5.5/10

Yeh I thought that was a fuckin' great flick too. The transfer on that DVD looks awesome too. That film was lost for far to long. Nice to see some gems coming out of the woodwork after Not Quite Hollywood.

I remember quite a few few ppl walking out of the cinema when I saw this..

Me - I liked it...

I don't get people walking out of a movie. Even if I got offended/bored I still paid for it so I'm gonna watch it to the end.

Saw V

Having previously only lasted through 1, 2 and half of 3 I didnt hold any hopes for a good film. The fact that big chunks of the movie were flashbacks to previous films meant that even if I hadnt seen anything before it was stupidly easy to get the point. Acting was shoddy at best but I suppose the look of the film was quite good. I may waste my time with Saw VI at some point but theres no rush.
