Deep Red

Goddamn cheap-ass fullscreen DVD:mad:

Usually fullscreen doesnt bother me too much, but I could tell that this one was just cut to bits.

Other than that, it was a pretty damn good movie. Not on par with Suspiria, but still good.

"When a stranger calls"

Interesting movie. Not very good, but interesting and different.

But how can you call this a horror movie???

The caller was almost likable, i thought..

It came in one of those 50 Horror Movie packs that I bought awhile back.

Get what you pay for, I guess. Will have to get my hands on the Anchor Bay version...

PS - My Zip membership hasnt gone through yet....for some reason they cant authorize the account because I did their free trial thing a year or so ago:confused:. I mean, it would make sence if I had tried to sign up for the free trial again, but I just signed up for a normal account this time:confused:.

The guy that answered their helpline today was no help, either...cant do anything until Monday cause he didnt have "clearance" to fix my account.

Bloodrayne [2006]
Wholy fucking christ. I knew everyone hated this movie with a passion, but I blew most of it off as over-exaggerating which is what 90% of this board does. Now I know why everyone feels as they do. This is seriously one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. And that's counting B-horrors as well.

slayer666 11-11-2006 06:43 PM

Not even Cerina Vincent's hotness could save this stinker.

so so .. hated it at first - it picked up in the last 3rd (the wasps were cool)

Star Wars episode IV.

Phalanx 11-11-2006 07:35 PM

Brother Bear - Very nice animation...kinda sad, but a good watch all the same.

Beavis and Butthead do America - Not quite as funny as the initial viewing, but still gets a few chuckles, and it's always been a pretty enjoyable film to me, I was surprised that they managed to pull off a movie as well as they did. Sometimes wish Mike Judge would revisit the series, but hey...oh, and an awesome, AWESOME soundtrack.

"Into the Blue"...was "kinda" curious about this one for a while...so I hired it. I suppose if you like staring at jessica Albas almost completely exposed ass throughout much of the shooting, it'd be ok. It's not too bad, but not really "good" either. Not my kinda film.

crabapple 11-11-2006 07:38 PM

I saw "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" in the theatres, and it was REALLY COOL. I had so much fun. Yes, the music is good--both the songs and the orchestral score.

Saw III

I liked it. A couple things bugged me, but it was pretty much on par with the first two. A few parts were a bit too far fetched though IMO, even for a Saw movie.

hellfire1 11-11-2006 11:54 PM

saw pan's labyrinth again.

i really hope this one doesn't get overlooked in the us because it's such a beautiful movie. one of del toro's best, if not the best.

i didnt like this one at all (despite the 'Bob and Doug' moose)
i'm fed up with disneys animation .. especiall the the 'kill a parent or sibling - then go find your strength despite your size' tired old plot line.

i'm pretty tough on disney .. i think they've been coasting for a long time .. and they're suffering because of it.. financially

I think that the version you watched was the cut version, too. Did it have any subtitles, or was it all dubbed?

You mean The Hatchet Murders cut? Never seen it, but I've heard it's butchered.

Yep. I'm positive that's the one he watched. I haven't seen it myself.

RETURN: You need to get the Anchor Bay uncut release. It'll compltely change your opinion on the film.

No matter what people say, I've always loved this one. Not only is the photography incredible, but the score was, and is, revolutionary.
