Halloween. I don't really consider Army of Darkness to be a true horror film, although I like it a lot. But if we're voting for "best horror", then Halloween wins out of these two.

i love both of these films... and i DO consider army of darkness to be horror... as there are MANY subgenres within horror that this fits...

I don't wanna be rude ,but these match ups suck. U shouldn't put sequels with originals. So many of the match ups suck because u'll put together an original 4 one series with a sequel thats 20 movies in on another series. Originals should go with originals, an sequels should go with sequels.

Once you think about there are some movies that shouldn't be put into the tournament in the first place. I agree though. Child's Play and Halloween 6 should not have been put together in a match. Not if you think about it in the way that they are both excellent movies and can't be over-rated.

And about the match ups... It doesn't matter if there are mismatches in the first round, there are supposed to be. (Ever watch the NCAA Final 4? #1 vs. #16 first round. The point of a tournament is to determine the best movie in that particular category. (This one happens to be Best Horror Movie Overall.) If Halloween went against Nightmare on Elm Street in Round 1, then that's one movie thast should have probably advanced a bit further into the tournament that can't. So, let's say Halloween vs. NOES round 1 and Child's Play 3 vs. Puppet Master 4 in Round 1... Well, NOES might win and same with Child's Play 3, but does that mean Child's Play 3 is a better horror movie than Halloween? Hell, no! That is why the first round tends to be mismatched.) Did I confuse/lose anyone? If I did, just trust me, the mismatches are appropriate and completely normal in the first round. |
