Out of the two, I probably thought Star Trek was better - though I didn't have much a problem with either, both met/exceeded expectations, both were better than the last franchise films previous them.

I gotta be honest and say I struggled to sit through Star Trek. Thought it was pathetic. Half the characters came across as a parody of the original the other half came across as a bunch of emo kids. I can't think of a single character from that film that I had any interest in. I haven't been that close to wanting to smash the TV since seeing Watchmen. I guess on a positive note I could say Star Trek was a bit better than Watchmen though. I also thought the opening scene was fairly good.

Amores Perros AKA Love's a Bitch (2000). Absolutely awesome Mexican flick that comes with one major warning. If you are an animal lover ya may want to stay away from this one (unless of course ya can completely divorce movies from the real world). The title is an apt one, for this is a painful study on the pain of love, both sexual and familial. The story was convoluted but never confusing, with a nice complement of drama and action. The acting was awesome, as was the direction and camera-work. The symbolism works wonderfully, and Cofi almost serves as the centerpoint to the fundamental meaning of this great movie. A long movie to be sure, i never found myself wondering when it would be over, and was actually found myself disappointed that it ended so soon.


Gots some work to do yeah? Of course, my Netflix que hovers just below the limit so i am in no position...

i enjoyed star trek a lot - with the exception of simon pegg who was horribly miscast.

the problem with terminatior was my expectations which were high. there was sucha 'christain bale' build up - and then he was in the film for 10 minutes - playing batman.

i will say - i did like the new guy. i'll buy this and watch it again with readjusted expectations and i'll probably enjoy it a lot more

Really? I liked Pegg a lot, I just didn't like the stupid creature they threw in (Was that the Oompa Loompa from Carlie and the Chocolate Factory?).

I want to see Salvation, maybe I'll check that out this week, I honestly have enjoyed all 3 Terminator flicks so far so I can't see disliking the fourth.

How was 100 Feet V? Big fan of Eric Red so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

I felt the same way and it was my only complaint about the film. Karl Urban really surprised me, his performance of Bones was brilliant.

I avoided most of the hype when it came to Terminator: Salvation and not being a fan of Bale I honestly wasn't expecting much especially after the third film which did have a couple of cool moments but lacked the more serious tone of the previous films. I think seeing Terminator: Salvation on the big screen help sway my judgement on it. The film was such and onslaught and I walked out of the theatre with my ears ringing! It's my favourite of the series after the original film and I'm amped on the rumoured further entries.
