Sam The Egg 09-22-2004 01:10 PM

which, btw, is the first thing that came to mind when the rock pile scene came up in the Blair Witch Project

"The secret government Eggo project"

Arioch 09-22-2004 01:23 PM

"Hate is baggage. Life's too short to be pissed off all the time."

Sam The Egg 09-22-2004 01:33 PM

Sam The Egg 09-22-2004 06:25 PM

I've been very lonely in my isolated tower of indecipherable speech

Arioch 09-23-2004 01:43 PM

Nice....

Arioch 09-24-2004 02:04 PM

"Of all the bars in all the world, you had to come into this one"

Sam The Egg 09-24-2004 03:12 PM

another misquote, but I'm to lazy to go find the right one

"Colonel, fair's fair... if I nail Hot-Lips and punch Hawkeye, can I go home too?"

Arioch 09-28-2004 02:27 PM

Oh, king eh? Very nice. And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers. By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society

Arioch 09-30-2004 11:38 PM

*bumped for an obvious depreciation of my fantastic quote*

Sam The Egg 10-01-2004 01:15 PM

Arioch 10-02-2004 09:57 PM

Do you know where you are Bartolome? You are about to enter hell.

Arioch 10-13-2004 09:45 AM

"Thats some good shit huh?"
"Its a fucking cigarette"

The STE 02-24-2005 10:48 PM

Bumped, because one of Arioch's original reccommendations came close to cracking the top 10, and could move up as high as number 8 in the near future. Requiem for a Dream is the first and only movie to bring me to tears. That's right, TEARS! Not that little "single tear or two" type thing, either. That movie was fucking HARSH at the end.

So, it's at number 11 at the very least.

EDIT: Screw it, it's number 8. Which means, as much as it pains me to do it, Se7en is no longer in the top 10

Full Metal Jacket, however, was a great dissapointment

Easy Requiem for a Dream is way more powerful then both of those two films!

Scarface is a much more powerful movie than Monty Python, but it's behind it. Obviously Sam and I have different opinions but I think Raging Bull while maybe not as powerful is still the better movie.

Yeah....don't forget though it is his opinion so whatever he likes makes it.

I know we've got different opinions but I agree with most of the list, I would have certain things in different order and there a few I haven't seen yet but for the most part I'd say about 90% I agree with ecspecially the top 5 although I'd drop one to sixth and throw in something else.

do you have it written already?

GorePhobia 02-25-2005 11:38 AM

yes I do....I'll post it for ya

The STE 02-25-2005 12:12 PM

Raging Bull and Se7en got pushed down because Requiem for a Dream is better. And I love both movies to death. But Requiem is a little better. And I even had it at number 11 at first just so I could keep Se7en in my top 10, but I had to bump it to 8

I've never even seen Requiem for a Dream I thought you were talking about something else, I must've read your post wrong. I'll have to get that asap if it's suppose to be better than Raging Bull.

AUSTIN316426808 02-25-2005 12:24 PM

42. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)

this is the only thing I have a big difference of opinion on.

The STE 02-25-2005 12:49 PM

too low or too high or shouldn't be on at all?

urgeok 02-25-2005 12:50 PM

too low, I think it should at least be somewhere in the 20's but hey that's just my opinion.

The STE 02-25-2005 12:59 PM

at one time it was in the 20's, but last year almost the whole list got reordered (only the top 6 remained the same), so some dropped considerably, some jumped up

that's understandable cause even though you're going on what the best movie is and not your favorites I would assume that it's sometimes influenced by your mood.

my list always changes around pretty often except for the top 5.
