Its not terrible but its not great either. The acting isn't great and the ending sucked but the aliens were cool and it was mildly entertaining.

Like many people in the united states I am still waiting for Phantasm V to come out.

To be honest this is the only movie i am waiting for, nothing else out there seems to `do it for me`.At least not the ones i am aware of,unless there are some gems i have not been privy too.

Bone Tomahawk

Directed by the writer of "The Incident" (2011) which I liked very much. And just.... Look at the cast, for Christ sake!!!

"Four men set out in the Wild West to rescue a group of captives from cannibalistic cave dwellers", starring Kurt Russell & Patrick Wilson (Among others). Enough said.::cool::

I thought this movie was going to be simillar to "13 Sins" and "Cheap Thrills", but the story turned out to be much closer to "Contracted. Gross.

First half is pretty damn slow. Second is quite pacy.

The Revenant
The Yellow Birds

horcrux2007 01-07-2015 06:43 AM

I might check out Amityville: The Awakening if it ever gets a release date. Looks like a knockoff of Insidious, but you never know how it could turn out.

The Voices
"A mentally ill factory worker stumbles innocently into the role of a killer, guided along the way by his evil talking cat and benevolent talking dog."

I liked it but this is spot on, add "short MTV music video in the middle" and you've nailed it.

Personally I'm looking forward to a lot of movies but some of the lesser talked about are The Voices (like Baron), Deathgasm, Wyrmwood, and We Are Still Here.

I'm really looking forward to Crimson Peak this year. Nothing else comes to mind except for the usual bunch of cheesy looking remakes (I'm not sure what to make of the forthcoming Poltergeist, to be honest)...

Baron Von Marlon 02-17-2015 09:51 AM

Muck
Supposed to be Evil Dead-ish with all practical effects.
Prequel and sequel are already planned so I'm hoping for a good story.

Doesn't look evil dead-ish at all. Looks like a bunch of 20 somethings vs a psycho butcher stuck between a marsh and a farm.

No, idea. Only read about it.

They put out a trailer that features nothing but shaky cam, so they've made a shaky-com movie to imitate the found-footage aesthetic. Garbage.

Aka "Grizzly"

"Two estranged brothers reunite at their childhood home in the Alaskan wild. They set out on a two-day hike and are stalked by an unrelenting grizzly bear."

By the director of SAW 5 and starring Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Jane and James Marsden.

This could be one really entertaining ride.

Me too. I'm a big fan of "The Edge" (1997).

"Lost River"

"Lost River" is a dark fairy tale about love, family and the fight for survival in the face of danger. In the virtually abandoned city of Lost River, Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother of two, is led into a macabre underworld in her quest to save her childhood home and hold her family together. Her teenage son Bones (Iain De Casestecker) discovers a mystery about the origins of Lost River that triggers his curiosity and sets into motion an unexpected journey that will test his limits and the limits of those he loves.

Written and directed by... yes... Ryan Gosling!

Why do I have a feeling this could turn out like nicolas winding refn's "Only God Forgives"? ::sad:: All fingers crossed that it won't, coz the story sounds sweeeet.

Damn Heathen 02-27-2015 10:30 AM

LOST RIVER sounds drama-heavy. ::shocked:: Of course, so did the synopsis for Crimson Peak, but I geeked out when I saw its trailer.

True. But it also sounds like a dark surreal fairytale and I'm a big fan of those. Think Neil Gaiman. At least, that's what I'm hopping for. ::smile::

Damn Heathen 02-27-2015 10:50 AM

Killer Pizza is being adapted for the big screen. That would be a logical PG13 follow-up to a successful Goosebumps movie.

I dunno. It looks like it could be good, but it also looks like its trying to hard to be powerful.

"Broken Vows"

And this is why:

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...psx3eupo2g.png

Co-written by our old pal Roderick Usher and starring Wes Bentley, the guy who likes floating plastic bags. The story sounds promising too, especially considering it's written by the same dude who gave us "Kraken" and "Mammoth". Well... and the same guy who wrote "Giallo" and "Tokarev", but fuck that!!

Now I feel like watching Kraken again. My favorite Sean flick, even tho he dislikes it himself. ::big grin::
