I haven't seen Hannibal Rising but as much as I love The Silence Of The Lambs I'll have to say Manhunter is my fave Hannibal Lecter film.

I enjoyed Red Dragon more than SOTL.

I want to catch up on the rest of the Lecter films and will, someday.

Don't wait too long.

Jigsaw Killer 01-26-2013 09:34 PM

I'll see if I find them for rent anywhere near me, I've been curious to see them as is.

metternich1815 01-27-2013 06:13 PM

I loved the original Predator movie, but Predator 2 was my favorite also. The Universal age generally refers to films made by Universal Studios in period of the 1930s-1950s. Although the whole period of the 1930s-1940s is commonly referred to as the Universal Age (in terms of horror). Some examples of Universal films would be Dracula (1931), Frankenstein (1931), The Mummy (1932), The Invisible Man (1933), King Kong (1933), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). Many of these films also have several sequels. My personal favorite is Dracula (1931), although a close second would be The Invisible Man (1933), followed by Frankenstein (1931).

Jigsaw Killer 01-27-2013 07:40 PM

Quite a few people here seem to like Predator 2, which is cool to see. That movie is definitely underrated and doesn't get the respect it deserves.

benohmart 01-29-2013 01:35 AM

my favs

[QUOTE=Jigsaw Killer;928224]Pretty simple, which one movie of the following series with at least three or more movies is your favorite? Just pick your one favorite from each and add more series if you'd like.

---

Friday The 13th - part 3 and 10

Halloween - 3 (I know, it's not part of the series, but I love it)

A Nightmare On Elm Street (one of the middle ones, can't remember)

Saw - 2, without doubt!

Scream - they all seem the same to me.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the original is still the most disturbing horror flick I've never seen.

Alien - first one. I love the way the survivor isn't the focus, so you're not sure who's going to be the survivor.

Predator - I really liked 2. The way just a cop fights this powerful being.

Phantasm - the first was quite good.

Evil Dead - didn't care for the series. I prefer comedy and horror separate.

Hellraiser - the one where the cop finds himself in a Groundhog Day. Very good.

Child's Play - 3 is the one at the military academy? That one.

Final Destination - the last one was my fav.

Cube - 2 is GREAT.

Jaws - 2, because there's more shark!! And NOT CARTOON SHARK.

Jigsaw Killer 01-29-2013 03:08 AM

Good call on Cube. I only saw the original and parts of the third. I really liked the original and have wanted to see the sequels.

Very good additions there :)

Jigsaw Killer 02-01-2013 07:56 PM

I was thinking, how about best segment of a Horror anthology television series per season? Could be an interesting and fun addition.

I can never remember TV show episode titles very well but I did really enjoy The House That Bled To Death and Guardian Of The Abyss most in Hammer House Of Horror :)

Jigsaw Killer 02-02-2013 02:23 PM

I love shows like Tales From The Crypt, Tales From The Darkside, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Masters Of Horror, etc.

I haven't watched Tales From The Crypt or Are You Afraid Of The Dark since I was a kid, I really want to see them again as an adult could be interesting. Never watched Tales From The Darkside but I'm sure the horror channel showed them recently so I'll keep an eye out for them.

Fave Masters Of Horror episodes-Haeckel's Tale, Cigarette Burns, Jenifer and Imprint.

Jigsaw Killer 02-02-2013 04:05 PM

Tales From The Darkside is great, that show is a fond memory I have and I find a lot of the episodes still hold up.

horrorfangirl66 02-17-2013 08:05 PM

Friday the 13th- Part II (it’s the first with a killing and burlap sack wearing Jason)

Halloween- Rob Zombie’s Halloween (nothing against the original- I’ve seen it every Halloween since I can remember, but I love Rob’s version. It’s grittier and goes more in depth)

A Nightmare on Elm Street- Love the original (One, two, Freddy's coming for you. / Three, four, better lock your door. / Five, six, grab your crucifix. / Seven, eight, gonna stay up late. / Nine, ten, never sleep again.)

Saw- original

Scream- original (very good series)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre- The original (1974)

Alien- Aliens

Predator- original

Phantasm- I've only seen the original

Evil Dead- Evil Dead II

Hellraiser- The original

Child's Play- The original

Final Destination- the first one I guess (really don’t care for these movies though)

Segment in Anthrology-Trick r'Treat "Surprise Party" (although I absolutely LOVE the whole movie!)

I Know What You Did Last Summer- original

Paranormal Activity- original

Jaws- original

Romero's Living Dead Series- Diary of the Dead (loved the message this one sent and it was really relevant about today being so “tuned” in all the time. I like all of Romero’s films. This one just really stood out because of the different message)

Poltergeist- original

Re-Animator-original

Tremors- original

Universal (1930s-1940s)- The Wolf Man (1941)

Hammer- The Mummy (1959)

Children of the Corn- original

Amityville Horror- original (one of my favorites)

Hannibal Lecter- Silence of the Lambs

Anthrology TV Series segment- Goosebumps "Night of the Living Dummy II" (1996) (read the books and I loved the show as a kid, I can hear the theme song just thinking about it, I also watched Tales from the Crypt and Are you Afraid of the Dark?)

New edition: Psycho- the original is classic

New edition: When a Stranger Calls- the original ("Have you checked the children?").

New edition: Underworld- Rise of the Lycans

New edition: Fright Night- I really love the original. It’s in my top ten faves. Part 2 was enjoyable. The remake was pretty good, but neither of them is as good as the original. Evil Ed :-)

Jigsaw Killer 02-23-2013 08:31 PM

Good call on those additions :)

If you liked the original Phantasm then definitely give the sequels a watch, great series.

horrorfangirl66 02-23-2013 10:24 PM

Yeah thanks I have seen people discuss that quite a bit on here and I am definitely going to find them because I really did enjoy the first one. :)

Jigsaw Killer 02-24-2013 11:30 PM

I think you'd enjoy the sequels if you liked the original.

Most favorite is Final Destination.

Jigsaw Killer 03-12-2013 04:14 PM

What's your favorite installment in each series, though?

It seems you got around to seeing the whole series recently, what did you think of the series as a whole?

Jigsaw Killer 04-04-2013 11:12 PM

I just realized the new Evil Dead remake is out today. Should be interesting to see if it becomes anyone's new favorite of the series.

I love watching these films too..I watched all Saw series in one go afew weeks back..1 to 7..Then did the same with Final Destination films..they make more sence then lol

knife_fight 05-04-2013 06:32 AM

Friday The 13th - Part 7. I really like the first 3, but I've watched the 7th one a million times because it was filmed near my house and they invited the whole community to come up and watch them blow up a house.

Halloween - the first one, but I do have a soft spot for part 3.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Part 3. I think the 1st one is a superior film, but part 3 is just so much fun.

Saw - only saw the 1st one.

Scream - only saw the first one

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - the first one, but I love part 2 also.

Alien - Aliens. I love the first one, but again, this one is just so dang fun.

Predator - first one

Phantasm - the 2nd one. It was the first one I saw, so it has a nostalgic hold on me.

Evil Dead - Part 2.

Hellraiser - part 2

Child's Play - the first one

Final Destination - only saw the first one

Jigsaw Killer 05-06-2013 03:46 PM

I still haven't seen Halloween III, been meaning to. Seems like it's a good standalone Horror film.

Jigsaw Killer 05-08-2013 12:03 AM

Also forgot to mention if you liked the original Saw, Scream and Final Destination, then the sequels are definitely worth seeing.

I think my new favorite is The Final Chapter. I always go back and forth on 4 and 6 as my favorite F13s, but lately I've leaned a little more towards 4.

Jigsaw Killer 05-19-2013 11:47 PM

I was thinking best segment of a Horror series in general would be a good addition, not just for anthologies. Shows like The Walking Dead, Bates Motel, Hannibal, etc.

If you still haven't seen it (I wasn't sure if you hadn't seen it from May 6th to now) I would recommend it. I didn't like that it was sort of a cheat, but if you just forget that Halloween III is in the front, then it is really good. If I was judging it by quality, it would probably be my third or fourth favorite in the series (but since it does not have Myers, then I rate it as my least favorite). I just want to note that I know most people don't like movies 4+, but I actually really liked all those movies. Of course, Halloween (1978) will always be my favorite, but still.

Jigsaw Killer 06-13-2013 09:02 PM

I haven't seen it yet but will make it a point to by October :)

Jigsaw Killer 06-21-2013 11:45 PM

Hatchet III is out now, so Hatchet is now a series that's eligible to be included here. I saw the first two and thought 2 was better than the first.
