Hell yea I remember you! How have ya been?

I need to check out Anti-Christ. I've also wondered about Peep Show so I'll give it a go too.

ChronoGrl 12-22-2011 05:12 AM

Yeah, I've had Anti-Christ on my queue for months now; Just haven't been in the right mood to check it out... I'll watch it eventually.

last bad move 12-22-2011 07:02 AM

i hoped you would we used to chat alot. i was glad to see a familiar face. since then i found a lot more old pals.
anti-christ isnt for everybody the first night i watch it my friend eric made me turn it off. but it was right up my ally, tons of symbolism and undertones. but if you flinch easy this might not be for you. i would say more then almost any movie this is a acquired taste.

OOO! Yay! Great movie!

I also recommend the Spanish horror anthology series 6 Films to Keep You Awake. Well directed, creepy stuff.

ChronoGrl 01-01-2012 06:36 PM

Nightmares in Red, White, and Blue... Great documentary.

I just logged in to post this, lol!

Hilarious flick! Reminded me of The Evil Dead in ways....The campiness...

ChronoGrl 01-02-2012 12:10 PM

Just discovered the BBC show Spaced on Netflix Instant... Really cool to see the Shaun of the Dead guys before Shaun of the Dead.

Just finished the first episode and I'm watching the second - Pretty entertaining.

Sistinas666 01-03-2012 06:21 AM

I just discovered these:

Sons Of Anarchy season 3
The IT Crowd
Blue Mountain State season 3

fortunato 01-03-2012 07:34 AM

I just realized no one's mentioned Twin Peaks. If you haven't seen that, you should get on it.

newb 01-03-2012 07:47 AM

True Grit

original and remake

Tangleduponblue 01-09-2012 02:07 PM

I second 'Twin Peaks'.

Also, 'Spaced', has been added within the last month or so. Anyone who hasn't seen it needs to.

'Ancient Aliens' and some other paranormal tv shows are on there: 'MonsterQuest', 'Ghost Adventures' (which I don;t really like but will put on while I do other stuff), 'X-Files', 'Dan Akroyd on UFOs', and about a million other alien documentarys...

Those guys on Ghost Adventures crack me up - they're so over the top!

Tangleduponblue 01-10-2012 10:54 AM

Haha ya, seeing those ridiculously fitted shirts Zack wears makes me laugh every time.

Yeah, definitely. But you can always look at it as: it never had a chance to get bad. I actually think the last episode really works as a finale.

Don't think anyone's posted this yet, but Dogtooth is streaming. Probably my favorite film from 2009.

I noticed this post and watched the first 3 episodes. Good stuff! Thanks!

newb 01-11-2012 08:25 AM

watched a couple of entertaining documentaries over the last two days

Winnebago Man

and

The Best Worst Movie----a doc. about Troll2....which prompted me to also watch Troll 2. [ also on netflix instant ]---this would be a fun double feature on a Saturday night with some friends and a few beers

Oh man, awesome. I've been wanting to see this because I was at a screening of Troll 2 in Chicago while they were filming. Some friends and I answered questions on camera. Not sure if we made the cut or not, though.

That doc was insane. It was almost hard to believe it wasn't a fictional movie. Very good flick!

newb 01-11-2012 10:05 AM

Another fun double feature, both on instant....beers optional but highly recommended

I definitely back this recommendation. Everyone on here needs to see Not Quite Hollywood

Doc Faustus 01-11-2012 03:26 PM

If you haven't seen it yet, see The Last Circus. Del Toro, Jodorowsky, Browning and all manner of other magic come together in it. It's extremely brutal, insane and beautiful.

The beginning with the machete wielding clown part was genius. My wife who doesn't care much for horror even liked this one!

Doc Faustus 01-12-2012 08:14 PM

It's a real genre bender, which a lot of great horror is, hell, great films of most any genre are.

I think the beginning was fantastic and delightfully droll, but the movie dragged a bit for me, which was too bad because I couldn't really enjoy its climactic finish (I had already checked out).

I can see why some people love it - Just wore thin on me.

And now from High Art to Lowbrow Art...

Trailer Park Boys are back on Instant. Utterly hilarious. Recommended if you haven't seen it yet.

Brilliant series! Probably my favorite tv show of all time. I've seen every episode and both movies atleast 3 times each!

I'm finding more and more that I enjoy comedy series from Canada, Australia, and the UK more than I do US sitcoms. They seem fresher, edgier, and just plain hilarious!

Some examples(not all on instacue): TPB, Pure Pwnage, The Jon Dore Show(these 3 from Canada), The IT Crowd, The Office(both from the UK), Summer Heights High, Angry Boys(both from Australia)

I highly recommend all of these series.

Elvis_Christ 01-15-2012 02:39 PM

Sistinas you should check out Outrageous Fortune sounds like you'd dig it man.

I watched the first season(they only made one) of the American adaption of this show. In the US they called it Scoundrels. I'll definately have to find the version you mentioned.

Sistinas666 01-20-2012 01:12 PM

I mentioned this one in Recently Watched Movies-Hardcore Logo.

A very cool pic for punk fans!

'Party Down' is awesome. I've hear they're talking about making a movie of some sort to wrap up any loose ends. Of course I don't know to what extent it's been discussed but Lizzy Caplin said they've discussed it.

Yeah, I remember reading about that a little bit after it was cancelled. That would be amazing if it happens, but I think the last episode has pretty decent amount of closure.

I agree. I like Adam Scott alright on 'Parks and Recreation'. I'd sure love to see a few of the cast members from 'Party Down' on there, they seem to get a lot out of their guest stars on 'Parks and Rec'

Yeah, I really like Parks and Rec, and I think Adam Scott does a great job there. Did you see the Party Down reunion on Children's Hospital?
