I'm obsessed w/ this show and the comics! I can't wait for season 3 to begin October 14th!! Get ready for The Governor!

Dead&Bloated 08-13-2012 06:07 PM

Huge fan of the comic! Best thing to happen to the genre since Romero gave it to us. Fan of the show as well. Can't wait for season three!

Walking Dead - LOVE IT!

Shane was amazing!! He was hot and had depth of character and he evolved. He was exciting to watch and added tension to the show. Rick of course is the hero, but I would shake my head at how foolish he was sometimes.. Like saving the kid who was running w/the group who tried to kill them. I HATED the ending of season 2 however. I hated the hooded CGI zombies-on-leashes chick. I hated Rick in that episode and frankly, Laurie can bite it anytime. Loved season 1 & 2, but probably won't tune in for season 3.

Anthropophagus 08-19-2012 02:09 AM

It wouldnt bother me if they all got bitten and turned. The only character worth watching is the redneck Daryl.

leslie01 08-19-2012 06:05 PM

oh yes..

Forgot about Daryl.. Love him, too.

Yep Daryl is fab.Michonne is worth waiting for! (but thats taken strictly from my take on her character from the comics~not sure what theyll do with her on screen)

tinobest 08-24-2012 02:13 AM

The walking dead is Nice horror show. I almost watch all season. But season 2 is My one 0f Best Season of this show.

blackwriter 08-31-2012 12:25 AM

I'm excited to see how they show the craziness that is The Governor!! Shane was pretty cool in Season 2, especially when he gave that speech in front of the barn, before killing those zombies. That speech got me pumped up.

iSeymore 09-02-2012 08:01 PM

Fantastic show, one of my favourites, AMC has outdone itself again, caught a quick glance at a season 3 preview, the prison is going to be intense, and if they even go close to the comic series in this season, I hope they end up adding the govenor into the show, he was a wicked villain. :)

Action Avenue 09-09-2012 05:08 AM

This is my favorite show as well, in fact, this is the only show in which I own the DVD sets. I've enjoyed the pacing of seasons 1 & 2, and have defended it to anyone who has made the claim that it moves too slowly or that it is too much like a soap opera. My defense has always been that the relationships between the well acted characters and their extremely well written dialogue makes the action sequences pay off that much more. My wife and I enjoy analyzing the differences between the comics (which we also read) and the show. Just watched the featurettes on the newly acquired season 2 set and I can't recommend it enough. The only featurette I found to be unnecessary is the last one concerning the extras wardrobe, all the other featurettes were very interesting and entertaining. Can't wait for season 3!

hammerfan 10-09-2012 01:51 AM

This coming Sunday is the Season 3 premiere!

Frankenstein 10-15-2012 07:55 PM

Great start for season 3.
Quick pace, better writing, and a no nonsense approach. So far so good.

Action Avenue 10-16-2012 02:54 AM

Yes, I really enjoyed the opening episode to season 3. It's amazing how this show just seems to get better and better. It's not like it was a garbage show in season 1 and has just improved. This show has been excellent, in my opinion, from the very beginning. My wife also became hooked on it and she's not even really a big fan of zombie movies, so that should say something to how great this show is. The pacing and the story was just different in season 1 and season 2, but still of great quality. I think the tempo and the theme of each season has a lot to do with how the script writers approach it.

Frankenstein 10-16-2012 07:41 AM

Yea I like it well enough. definitely things i'd improve if it was up to me, but it's a TV show; and with a show like this you have to maintain a certain level of a suspension of disbelief - or you'll find it hard to enjoy much of anything.

I don't have any issues with the storyline for the most part. It is what it is... and i'm just along for the ride. What I do have issues with is detail.

Fingers hanging through fences in close proximity to walkers... the haphazardly way zombie blood flies and splashes around during a kill, but early on in the show they emphasized the idea that they should be properly protected by being well covered.... things like that.

Overall though I like the show, most of the characters, most of the story.
Season 2 had twice the episodes done on only half of the budget of season 1, and it showed. Bogged down storyline, and way too much whining and bitching going on. So far this season has started off better. See if it holds up.

I thought the same thing Sunday night......"Whoa man...get your fingers away from the fence"....and the spraying blood is another issue I have

Sometimes somebody'll point stuff like that out on The Talking Dead, but never seems like anybody makes the effort in future endeavors to fix the flaws.

varo123 10-17-2012 09:36 PM

I just started watching this show, I'm on season 1 ,fifth chapter... I started watching it last week because one of my friends insisted me to watch it. But it really grinds my gears to see zombies climbing fences and stuff... Does the show gets any better?

Someone told me 3rd season just started and it's great, I don't want to judge it because I've only seen 5 episodes.....five "slow and kinda lame in some parts" episodes....so does it gets better?

If you're not hooked by the first five episodes, you might as well forget it. You're not going to like the rest. It started out strong and was rightly hailed as a landmark in horror on television, and possibly one of the most original zombie stories to grace either the big or small screen.

varo123 10-17-2012 10:35 PM

well I actually watched 4 episodes and now I'm on episode 5 (haven't seen it) but I think I will finish season 1 before making any overall judgement Even though I didnt find the first episodes amazing, I can agree with you about the originality of the story.

Anthropophagus 10-18-2012 09:42 AM

Be prepared for a crappy second series though Varo.

That's not really motivational Haha. I'll see how much I can take :p

neverending 10-18-2012 04:35 PM

Bah, bunch of cretins. :p

They hate the show for appealing to thinking people, instead of being a typical gorefest.

SusieQ 10-18-2012 05:07 PM

Yep..it's cool watching everyone else get picked off though..hehee..

Action Avenue 10-23-2012 02:30 AM

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed episode 2. This show just gets better and better. Obviously, Rick is in charge and he wants to make sure all outsiders know it (since the people in his group have fully accepted it). Rick is much more willing now to eliminate real and perceived threats to the lives he's protecting, but yet he doesn't kill humans carelessly. Pretty cool what Rick is willing to do to obtain his objectives.

neverending 10-23-2012 03:43 AM

I just wish he wouldn't be such a jerk to his wife...

:D

Dara 10-23-2012 06:49 AM

She gets on my nerves..and Rick hasnt got the energy to deal with her when he has all the other gubbins to sort out!.Michonne is my fave at the minute but up until now its always been the Redneck.
They sacked the writers half way through the second series didnt they?~ as it just wasnt pacey enough.I guess if youre looking for a greater character depth and dialogue The Walking Dead is for you.Its not just a massive gorefest .

Anthropophagus 10-23-2012 09:20 AM

Great first episode of the third series, havent seen the second one yet but if it continues in this vein then i will forgive the dull second series.

I know some of you think the second series was good but lets be honest here, this show is a zombie show and they hardly had any in the second series, and when they did show up it was if the producers had made their own `little house on the prairie` and forget all about the zombies so stuck one in at the end,or had one down a well.Nah,the second series was shit.

neverending 10-23-2012 11:21 AM

Um... no.

Season one and two were awesome in my book. Season three looks like it's gonna be a blast too.
Was awesome to see Rick in full on bad ass mode this past episode. Loved it.

Loved every episode so far. Yes the second dig drag in some places but overall I thought it was great. And the webisodes are pretty sweet too.

horrorchic 10-26-2012 07:19 AM

Updated Time

I just watched the first episode and second episode of the 3rd season. I have to say that this series is not loosing its momentum, which is fantastic to see. I can't believe the characters that we lost, but I am extremely excited to see Michonne.

I have read some of the comics and will work on the rest, but even when it doesn't follow the comics, it stands on its own and does a damn fine job at it. I would have never thought such an awesome TV series could exist and I'm very thankful for it, it really makes my Saturdays/Sundays. (Whenever I can see it if my DVR gets it first.)

I already finished watching season 2 and I got "up to date" with season 3...I agree with you, for me, season 2 was like watching some drama movie.

I must admit that I have developed feelings for this show, though season 2 was too dramatic for me; I kept feeling appealed to the plot... Season three is really nice, so far it has the perfect amount of drama, survival, action and zombies.... I read marilyn manson said he liked the show "not because of the zombies, more because it portrayed how people can actually turn and react in a survival environment"... I think thats exactly what keeps me hooked to the show

And this is exactly what makes the show more than just another zombie gorefest. It concentrates on the people, and tries to portray exactly what would happen in a zombie apocalypse in a more "realistic" manner.

The zombie apocalypse has hit- but you still have all your problems and concerns from before. Yes, there's drama. Because people have drama in their lives. Of course, a lot of horror fans these days are incabale of following character development... and this is what's wrong with horror in general today. They only want shocking moments and gore effects.

This is good solid storytelling. It's the continuing story of a group of real people in a bad situation... with zombies. Not a bunch of stick figures constantly being attacked by zombies.

Slayer x 11-02-2012 10:19 AM

Im glad that the action has picked up in season 3 . The middle of season 2 was a bit of a drag even if necessary to lead up to the explosive last couple episodes . Im still but thurt Shanes dead . Guess he had it coming .
