I remember seeing this in video stores years ago but never saw it.

Saw it when it first came out. About civil war ghost, and if memory serves me correct, it wasn't horrible. Worth a rental.

death_to_all 06-08-2004 06:54 PM

Yeah I heard that it is a really gruesome movie. But I wouldn't know I haven't seen it but been meaning to if I can find it that is.

you know this is another one of them film's everyone seem's to say is so great? im glad someone agree's with me it's not very good at all.

death_to_all 06-09-2004 02:34 PM

It was absolutely pathetic. I liked the first two they were actually scary but the third one what the hell was that?

massacre man 06-09-2004 03:47 PM

army of darkness was awesome what are you talking about?

death_to_all 06-09-2004 04:19 PM

Well I guess it depends on what way you look at it. I'm looking at it from a horror fanatics point of view. I was looking for something that was scary not action and that is exactly what it was. It had hardly any relevence to the first two and that's waht annoyed me about it.

death_to_all 06-09-2004 04:20 PM

Why don't we have a vote who thinks that Army of Darkness was good or could it have been better (bad)?
Vote now!

feral cat 06-09-2004 04:22 PM

Its fuckin brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The second was really just a remake of the first with a larger budget!

... at least sam rami tried to do somthing new and not just these Jason type sequels which are the same movie again and again!!!

... There's only one movie like it out there, and thats good not evry horror has to follow the same furmula, I agree its not that scary, but how many horror movies really are, unless your 10 years old hiding behind the couch!!!!!

death_to_all 06-09-2004 04:23 PM

Ok it is one for and one against so far (mine). Who else wants to vote?

Steelsymth 06-09-2004 04:35 PM

LOVED IT.....Sam Rami was brilliant

cheebacheeba 06-09-2004 07:30 PM

I liked the first one most, the second one just about as much although I didn't see the need for it.
I liked AOD a lot, regardless of the fact it wasn't really "horror"...People said that about the frighteners too, but if y'all didnt like that either, the problems probably you.

Robert Neville 06-10-2004 09:21 AM

"Army of Darkness" was excellant. It's difficult to meld horror/humor/action but that's exactly what AOD did.

Has anyone seen "Video Dead"?

Vodstok 06-10-2004 09:24 AM

Oh sweet jesus, yes...... that movie was awful...

feral cat 06-10-2004 09:35 AM

Hey Vodstock, whats you latest avatar from?, it's really cool!!!!!

Vodstok 06-10-2004 10:38 AM

Its a screenshot from halflife 2. i got it over on planethalflife

death_to_all 06-10-2004 03:28 PM

Well I think that that movie is stupid but Halflife is cool. So is Nightmare Creatures.

Vodstok 06-11-2004 04:12 AM

Ni ghtmare creatures was fun, but incredibly shallow.

Mark my words, Halflife 2 will be greater than sliced bread. Even with butter.

Morlok 06-11-2004 09:52 AM

"Della Morte, Del Amore" by Michele Soavi

"The Video Dead" by Robert Scott

"The Dead Next Door" by JR Bookwalter

"Night of the Living Dead 1990" by Tom Savini

"Undead" by The Spierig Brothers

MrShape 06-11-2004 07:38 PM

Oh, Christ! Forget the goddamn Dawn Of The Dead remake! It's a rip off! Thanks to that, George Romero will probably never get to film his fourth dead film. He's got the script but he can't find backing. The remake is just another example of producers tell the fans to go to hell and doing what they want in order to get what they consider the "real" viewers.

MrShape 06-11-2004 07:42 PM

I enjoyed all three Evil Deads. You ask me, Sam Raimi should hold off on Spider Man 3 and make Evil Dead 4 instead. If you go by Army Of Darkness' original ending, it could have Ash up against the Deadites in a Mad Max type world. Certainly couldn't be goofier then AOD.

massacre man 06-12-2004 08:21 AM

how can someone call what is obviously a remake a "rip-off" of course it takes ideas its a REMAKE

HappyCamper 06-12-2004 04:38 PM

I'd have to say that Army of Darkness is good, but for very different reasons than for the reasons that Evil Dead 1 & 2 are good. Evil Dead 1 & 2 kicked ass because it was frightening, and had plenty of gore. Army of Darkness was good cause it was meant to be funny. Raimi had wanted to make a third Evil Dead movie, plus if you've watched any of the behind the movie stuff on the DVD's you would know that Raimi is a huge fan of slap-stick comedy, especially of The Three Stooges which makes Army of Darkness's humor make sense. I will agree though that Evil Dead 1 & 2 are far better than Army of Darkness. Bruce Campbell did a kick ass job in all 3 films. If you remember he had some classic lines from the first two films as well. ie: We just chopped up our girlfriend with a chainsaw does that sound FINE!

HappyCamper 06-12-2004 04:41 PM

actually i think i heard that if Raimi decides to make a fourth Evil Dead movie it's going to be a prequel to the original, but I could be wrong.

carnage 06-13-2004 11:44 AM

Soo many things on this thread to comment on...

There should not be an Evil Dead 4....leave the classic series where it is, a good series...don't ruin it with a knock-off sequel/pre-quel.

There is a "grey-area" difference between a horror movie, and a "dark comedy".......I think Evid Dead movies, along with Bubba Ho-tep, are more of dark comedies....your basic zombie movie is more horror....

Zombies need first to be DEAD before they can be the LIVING dead. Hence, most are "infected" and then DIE...only to come back from the dead. Therefore in 28 days later, the infected do NOT come back to life after killed, and are therefore NOT zombies. Rather they are "infected" humans.....not undead creatures.

I think that's about it for now......"Ok, you win, no more brains"

bwind22 06-13-2004 09:05 PM

There's not going to be a 4th Evil Dead. Bruce won't do it, and I don't think Sam would try to do it without Ash.

Here is a link to Bruce Campbell's personal website...

ARE THERE PLANS FOR AN EVIL DEAD 4?

death_to_all 06-14-2004 07:52 PM

Well as I said before I only liked the first two Evil Deads and whatever ones that follow are going to be crap because you can't keep carrying a movie on forever it will bore the audience.

death_to_all 06-14-2004 07:53 PM

I think that Bruce said no.

jay o2 waster 06-14-2004 09:33 PM

The best zombie movie is Dead alive

Crow 06-16-2004 03:52 PM

the Romero trilogy and zombie 3

death_to_all 06-17-2004 04:12 PM

Yeah I agree dead alive is a really good movie. Not exactly scary but then it still remains good in other ways.

Miss Britt 06-17-2004 11:19 PM

The Dawn of the Dead Re-Make was awesome...
28 Days Later was great

bloodrayne 06-20-2004 09:19 AM

George Romero's original "Night Of The Living Dead" will always be the best

death_to_all 06-20-2004 02:57 PM

Nope I think that it was ok but not the greatest. There will always be a better movie made. What with technology that is out nowadays.
