3:42pm 07/14/09

Actually doing some work today. Feeling a bit sluggish as my lunch adventure to the Japanese/Korean place turned out rather gross and barely edible. And who doesn't have low-sodium soy sauce these days?

Time to scrounge some change and hit the vending machine. *Prays for Skittles* :p

Absolutely beat...on my feet all day at work, which I'm really not used to anymore. Worked at a convenience store for 3 years so I was used to it, but I've been spoiled sitting at a desk since October, heh. Doesn't help that I went to the gym for the first time in a few days as soon as I got off...my legs pretty much feel like they're going to fall off.

Debating whether or not to hit the hay early, or pop in a movie. Possibly both.

novakru 07-16-2009 04:22 PM

Having a very nice pity-party and working myself up into a nice fit of rage.

...I am tired of cleaning shit, I have cleaned shit my whole fucking life, my job before kids was nurse aide which largely consisted of cleaning shit for 8-16 hours, now I scoop cat shit out of litter, dog shit off carpets because my dog is just fucking STUPID, Bren's shit because he doesn't want to go potty but if he does he doesn't know how to wipe the right way, I scrub the shit in the toilets.....
and I wake up every morning for this, wow.

10:10 July 16th

Been very cranky as of late, for many reasons.
Fixing to find some kind of allergy medicine to get my throat opened back up all the way.
Sunburnt all to hell.
Playing Rainbow Six: Vegas
Going to watch Martyrs later.

Sitting here with my doggie, wishing it was warmer. We have a chance (a very good chance) of breaking the record of lowest high temperature for the day today. It's the middle of July folks, and it's only 62 degrees here. Cloudy and windy, so not much of a chance of getting much warmer here today. Personally, I'd like to break the record. If it's gonna be this chilly, might as well break a record, eh.

Other than that, watching TV and relaxing, so it's all good. :)

Got to work about 10 minutes ago. Catching up on all my internet stuff while having Wawa coffee. Wasn't on the computer at all this weekend....actually felt pretty good!

Just about ready to explode - work has been insane today. Been here since 9, and this is my first break. I get off at 5. Yes, it's been that rough.

Thankfully my schedule is weird this week and this is my last day - off tomorrow + Friday. If I had to come in tomorrow after the day it's been here...I'd probably collapse.

Lucky me, I have rehearsal tonight as well. So 2 hours off, then right back out to practice the most draining show I've ever been a part of. Yipee.

FRI July 24 1:49 am

Ah...Friday! I love Friday...a day for undisturbed long sleeps, amazing laziness, and looking for some new DVDs at the local stores.

Right now, watching a low budget British Horror...DEAD WOOD, quite dull. After this crap, thinking to go for an Asian horror.

Papillon Noir 07-23-2009 12:19 PM

07/23/09 4:15pm (still Thursday here, *sigh*)

Trying to motivate myself to do work. My boss made me come in an hour early for a training class that has nothing to do with my job. I can't tell if he's trying to get me to quit or he just an ass. so tired.

Also, trying to write a cover letter to apply for a new job since my current one is sucking my will to live. Not really, but you know you need a new job when you fantasize about your boss being eaten by the monkeys downstairs.

urgeok 07-23-2009 12:35 PM

you have monkeys downstairs ?? cool !

X¤MurderDoll¤X 07-23-2009 07:17 PM

just got home. met kurupt today and apparently made canadians look stupid by putting ranch on my pizza in front of his posse. a music video for a rapper named cannabliss was going on at the restaurant and they ended up starting late, they were still shooting when I got in. the manager was telling the crew that they were going to get fined or something but they continued shooting anyway. someone sparked up a joint in the restaurant, my money is on the person named cannabliss.

it's 8:17pm on thursday

Left for office right after I posted above, and returned just now.
Fine with some fatigue as usual.
Good to know you were in a good mood. How rare is that! :)
Wine does tend to lift your spirits (and skirts) up.

(now we can look forward to the "who cares" and "nobody cares" replies)

:D

Sitting at my desk after finishing off a box of Miller listening to Creech Holler's tune The Gospel of Judas (which is kicking my ass with is radness) & admiring my girlfriend's sexy new hairdo. Thinking about how the gig will go off tomorrow after a killer sounding band practice & hoping my aching wrist and flu will stay at bay.

Nice one bro. Got anything cool planned?

newb 07-24-2009 05:31 AM

not really.....poolside with beers for the most part. A few day trips perhaps. Just having 2 weeks off is good enough for me.

Rockin' It'd be nice sitting by a pool pounding a few I'll have to wait a few months till this winter deal has run its course. Roaring fire and beers is just as good anyways

I need one of those pretty quick or it ll be a severe case of burnout...
Hope the guys at the DO consider my request soon and I am granted some days leave.
Running on fumes right now...

Elvis_Christ 07-24-2009 05:45 AM

How much time do you get to take off each year? What's the criteria of them approving your leave? Getting someone in to relieve you for the time off or something?

_____V_____ 07-24-2009 05:53 AM

Well, I am entitled to 21 days leave per year, plus 1 day leave for every 11 working days.
Thing is, there's nobody to replace me while I m gone.
Plus, the agents/managers are dependent on my guidance for everyday work. Not to mention tackling the hundreds of customers who pour into the office everyday for their various stuff - claims (maturity and death), surrenders, cheques, monies, even normal enquiries.
If I take a leave, its basically them in the office. Ergo, DO (read Divisional Office, the ones above me) cant let me go unless its VERY urgent or I am sick in bed.
A leave of absence, therefore, is out of the question.
(Havent taken one in three continuous non-stop working years...seriously need one asap)

Elvis_Christ 07-24-2009 05:56 AM

Hope they sort it soon for you mate def sounds like you need some time away from the joint.

Right I'm off to bed talk to you cats tomorrow!

_____V_____ 07-24-2009 05:57 AM

Dont I know it!
G'nite buddy...long, wet dreams. ;)

The_Return 07-24-2009 06:12 AM

11:10 AM

Got up at an ungodly hour this morning (as in 5:30 am) - had to get some blood tests done, so I went into the clinic as soon as they opened so I wouldn't need to wait around. Worked out well...I was only there for a grand total of 15 minutes or so, registration and all. The less time spent in a hospital the better.

Now I'm just kind of lazing around the house. That's the downfall of getting up early on a day you have nothing to do - whole day ahead of me, with no plans whatsoever. Guess I'll do some more script work (show is coming along REALLY well), maybe pop in a movie or two. Looks like it'll just be a nice, slow, relaxing day...nothing wrong with that.

12:38 PM (Sunday, July 26)

Returned from shopping to find an unexpected and overwhelming gift waiting for me in my email.
Doc Faustus's Murderland I: H8!
Since amazon doesnt ship to India (damn em!), I had been scrounging shops everywhere for a copy - from local stores to Mumbai...but without luck.
Now thanks to Doc's fantastic gesture, I am finally in possession of a copy of his wonderful work.
Words fail to convey what I am feeling right now - its a combination of thrill, excitement, and also slightly overwhelmed and happy.
All I can say is - thank you, Garrett.:)
Going off now to have some lunch, and sit back to read Doc's book on a rainy Sunday afternoon, with a cup of hot ginger tea.

cheebacheeba 08-16-2009 06:11 AM

We should send the book around as the next "package" so that we can all praise it online and give it mad international props.

I thought I'd find this because I had a good day today.
Hit up this big place called Bunnings...think Wallmart but with yknow, only useful stuff, like a GIANT hardware/houseware/fix-it/gardening store.
I could seriously spend all damn day in this place.

They have various groups (girl scouts etc) that kind of put up a little stall in front of it on weekends and sell bbq'd sausage sandwiches with grilled onion...got us a couple of those...bad for you yet oddly enticing.

I was there to get some high quality potting mixture, as I'll soon be FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY starting up my indoor growing project, and I needed to space out some seedlings and get them full of good nutrients etc before transplant into another medium and/or a move indoors.
So I got this big bag of stuff, it was $13AUD for 25kg, which puts it between the middle of the range and top-end in quality. I could go through all the properties it has but it'd be boring - it had what I needed.

We also found a markets we'd never seen before...unfortunately it was closing up by then but we managed to buy some wholesale candy. Nice.

So we came home after, got some pots out and replanted the seedlings.
We also replanted some Geranium plants we'd grown from cuttings.
We also replanted a rosemary we're growing from a cutting too.

I made out of some discarded plastic bottles, individual moderate airflow germination chambers to keep 'em warm while they're still outdoors, and also, aside from my "nice" strain seedlings planted some of my imports, which I've yet to try
Those are KC33 x Master Kush & B-52 for anybody interested.
That said I'll probably only be doing 2 at a time indoors along with some fruit/herbs, the rest will go to friends.

As we had extra potting mix left, then there was the big project.
It was unexpected but we were already with the dirt 'n stuff, so decided it was a long time coming. Outside on our front balcony we have an Aloe Vera plant.
A big aloe vera. It's been in this pot for YEARS. I have noticed it's spawned as well, like years ago (again), but it's kind of been watered and not a lot else.

So with a lot of effort, we got this sucker outta it's pot.
Lots of little spiders were crawling about which was a bit annoying, but they were too small to be effectual.
You should've seen the bunch of roots this thing had...it was insane...the entire pot was more full of roots than the old dirt, so I got to work.
I removed the "babies" this thing actually spawned 14 individual aloe vera plants of different sizes, I really don't know how they all managed to stay alive.
So transplanted those into individual pots, well group pots for some but comparatively a LOT more soil room for their roots, and better quality stuff too.

The big one, I had to "manicure" the roots off it...it was just a mess. But we made a hybrid mix of the old (sieved) dirt and this potting mix, cut off all the dead parts and replanted it.

All up we were at it for 2-3 hours.
But my "garden" looks very nice now, and I feel accomplished actually doing something I'd put off for literally years.

Had some nice chicken for dinner too.

cheebacheeba 08-23-2009 06:59 AM

Went bushwalking today, smoked a J, found a giant ant thing...ate lots of food.

Doc Faustus 08-23-2009 08:21 AM

Looked over anthologies on Ralan´s List that will cause me to come up with cool story ideas for them that I will not write. Remembering actual antho and magazine commitments. Nine days, five thousand words, two book reviews. Seen worse. Mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. Delicious, but probably should not have eaten buffalo wings for breakfast. The two combine to make an aftertaste that I would not wish upon my worst enemy.

newb 08-23-2009 01:32 PM

August 27th, 2009: 11:31 PM

Should be sleeping - obviously am not.

I've lived in the same house my entire 19 years of life, and tomorrow I venture off into the great unknown of life on my own. Most of you have been here, so you know how ridiculously fucking pumped I am. I love the city I've grown up in, but I've exhausted my experience here - it's a great place and it's been very good to me...there just isn't anything left. Thus, I'm moving halfway across the country to expand my horizons: theatre school.

Hop a plane at 5:30 am tomorrow, arrive in Toronto for a few days to check out the Festival of Fear, and then off to London, Ontario where I'll spend my next 2 years fully immersed in my passion. I don't know one living soul in the entire city, nor have I ever seen he place I'll be living. 100% clean slate, a new beginning, and an adventure that I've been anticipating for years.

Wish me luck.

_____V_____ 08-27-2009 07:27 PM

All the best, my friend.

Here's to wishing you all the successes you aim to achieve in your life.

missmacabre 08-27-2009 09:10 PM

Good luck, good luck. I am a mere bus ride away (and not a terribly long one either, had a stop over in London on my way to Windsor) so I will visit at some point! Enjoy your schooling, Fanshawe is amazing. (You are going to Fanshawe right? My bf was going to go there for theatre but changed his mind last minute.) Good luck. good luck. good luck.

missmacabre 08-28-2009 12:25 AM

Aug 28. 420 am.

Woke up not long ago having an allergy attack. Just season allergies I think, but my throat feels like it's swollen shut, and it hurts really bad to swallow. I'm afraid to try to go back to sleep, so I have decided to stay up and attempt to regulate my sleep schedule before school.

I might need to take a few naps through out the day to keep me from getting sick/low immune system just in time for school. Today is going to be a looong day as it is because I need to clean my friend's house for my boyfriend's birthday party tomorrow, and bake a cake. I was going to make cake pops (cake on a stick dipped in chocolate) but I would have needed to bake the cake yesterday and I was busy.

For the second time in the last half hour, I have realized that sleepy posting is not unlike drunk postng so I will go away now.

The_Return 09-06-2009 08:36 PM

Currently...

...pretty drunk. Running around my residence building on campus, acting like the Joker and scaring the Hell out of people. Wish I had costume + makeup with me, would be way more fun.
