Many others are now available uncut (The Exorcist, Driller Killer and Last House On The Left). In the UK Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter was cut until 4-5 years ago. I was a teenager around the time that VHS was just starting out. Until that point the only horror and violence I had ever seen was that of Hammer House Of Horror (which I still enjoy), but that compared to: Superstition (AKA The Witch), I spit On Your Grave, Cannibal Ferox, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Evil Dead ETC. Maybe thats why the music volume varies and music is now in sync with the movie as now what was shocking and unbelievable now is just something so ordinary and almost scoffed at. |

***SPOILER*** Basically, one of the rapists was castrated with a knife and locked in the bathroom to bleed to death. |

I have that film (vhs) The bathroom part was stupid. how can it feel good getting your dick cut off. It looked like thew guy was getting off :D I know alot of woman hates this film they hate the rape part, but they like the penis slice. :D

Nasty, gratitious and exploitative. I loved it. A fine example of 70s US cinema. As I've said before theres some great gritty flicks from this period. "Neo-trash-realism" as I like to call it. This stuff pushed boundaries and unsettled a large amount of the movie watching public.
Last House On The Left is better in my opinion but I Spit On Your Grave is still an important part of the genre. Its good to see both being released uncut everywhere for the first time in ages. I remember when you had to rely on bootlegs for a decent cut of the film. |
Neither film is now available uncut in the UK, and The Last House on the Left was incomplete when first released before the VRA bannings.

Last House on the Left & I Spit on Your Grave...
Although their basic premise not being horror, they are usually included in the genre cuz of the graphic scenes... Comparatively, LHotH was a lot more graphic than ISoyG, although the deaths in ISoyG are excellent to watch. I loved the kid with the glasses getting seduced into the noose, and the guy getting his balls cut off and left to bleed to death. LHotH on the other hand, showed a more extreme view of the rapes itself, though I thought the gurls could have escaped easily on two or more occasions. But overall it was slow, at least when compared to ISoyG, but it had more crazy moments than ISoyG. Put to a choice, I would prefer ISoyG, simply cuz of the bathroom death...(YEOWCH!) How many of us clutched our balls when we saw that for the 1st time eh? |

Umbrella also do a lot of other horror movies of a less extreme nature, including a number of old Amicus films (eg Dr Terror's House of Horrors, The House that Dripped Blood, etc), some other British horrors (incl. Blood on Satan's Claw, the Asphyx, and others), and many other fine films. |

The reason I ask is that I don't have a problem tracking these films down on overseas sites, but I am worried about getting them past our Customs. Last thing I need would be a criminal charge for importing a banned film  Anyway, PM me if you want to discuss further... |

Just watched this last night. I was expecting it to disappoint in terms of shock value for some reason...but it was actually as shocking (Maybe even more) than it was hyped up to be. I got freaked out at the part where she was going to dial 911 and then the hooligans showed up again. I just wasn't expecting them to come back for even more. Definitely enjoyed the movie.
