so, who's up for being an annoying shit and making a poll to see how many people don't want this to be made and giving it to zombie in the hope that he will not make it?

(P.S - sarcasm is hard to tell from reading so i'll tell you, yes I'm being sarcastic)

ding ding! We have a winner. That's me in my avatar <--. And Halloweenfreak seems to be looking forward to the RZH from what he posted in the "more about halloween" thread.

crabapple 02-15-2007 06:15 AM

You know what? I will see the movie. I have no idea if I'll like it. But I have a strong impression that I'll enjoy it. So yeah, I think it'll be fun to plunk down my ten bucks and see whatever it is they're offering.

I still think it is strange, though, to be watching a horror movie directed by a guy whose last name is "Zombie." But, what the heck.

Halloween Trailer Released

If you havn't seen it, here is the theatrical trailer for Rob Zombie's upcoming remake of "Halloween". It looks........different, thats all I have to say.

http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/mf/frame?...8799-187487&id

Firemedic 04-09-2007 03:03 PM

It looks good so far. I like the way Zombie uses the original Myers mask. I hated the others with those cheap imitations. This one looks pretty much exactly like the original. Cant wait to see it

bloogertag 04-09-2007 03:43 PM

I remember hearing that te original mask was made from a william shatner mask. Anyone else hear this?

Yeah, that's true.

I saw the trailer yesterday when I went to see Grindhouse. I'm so looking forward to August 21st.

Roderick Usher 04-09-2007 05:18 PM

the trailer got a rousing chorus of BOOS from the audience at my screening of Grindhouse.

ferretchucker 04-10-2007 05:17 AM

From what I've read of a script, it sounds stupid. Not terrible but not michael either. But this trailer looks...good. Better than I thought. As for loomis, will he have an english accent? Not sure if it's true but I heard that adult michael talks, runs and changes his mask to show his emotions. We just have to hope I suppose. I'm just worried that a lot of people my age will see thi and think it's great because they havent seen or even heard of the original. Like TCM. I know people that didn't know that was a reinvention.

AmericanManiac 04-10-2007 05:19 AM

I had mixed thoughts about it, once I seen the trailer however is leaning me more and more towards to zombie re-inventing one of the greatest legends. It looks really great and i'm looking foward to this, I love the trailer!

mordrid 04-10-2007 05:24 AM

I enjoyed the trailer but I still have my doubts. As good as Zombie's previous films were, we are talking about an icon.

Ferret, while I agree a lot were ignorant about TCM (which is a shame), I highly doubt anyone would not know about Halloween. While I enjoyed the remake of TCM, it was nothing like the original in terms of lasting appeal. I hope this remake has a different effect on me.

I love halloween. I'm always going on about it at school. Whenever I do, people have either never heard of it or know only the name because it came out of my mouth. I know very few people my age who have seen it. I often try telling them about Michael myers the mass murderer, then have to stop to explain "No, that's the characters name, Mike myers is an actor who had nothing to do with the film."

mordrid 04-10-2007 06:30 AM

Wow ferret, didn't realize the youth of today was that stupid. I am sorry.

It's dissapointing. It may be just because it's England but here, very few my age have heard of or seen many horror films or any films from the eighties or earlier. If it werent for my stumbling across childs play when I was really young I wouldn't be into horror and if it werent for my mum once having a conversation about halloween to her friend, I may no have even seen it. Because my love of that led me to comingsoon.net which then led me to XtRaVa who told me about hdc. I owe a lot to Halloween.

VampiricClown 04-10-2007 09:27 AM

I think the trailer looks good, but if this movie sucks, Rob Zombie will forever be boo'd off of stage by me and a lot of other Halloween fans though.

I can't necessarily say that because remaking Halloween is a big cup to fill. If Rob Zombie pulls this off he will go down in history in my books. He already surprised the hell outa me with House Of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. Even if the movie bombs I will still respect him and continue to see his productions.

adz_gamble 04-10-2007 11:49 AM

Not to sure!

It dosen't look too bad. I say it would look better if it wasn't a remake! It has that modern horror movie look about it.

Micheal seems to move to fast compared to the originals...makes him less menacing!

Good thing is that horror movies these days are far more gory!! :D :D :D

CAN'T WAIT!!

Rob Bottin 04-10-2007 12:33 PM

This one will rock.

Itīd be fun to see Rob Zombie do the remake of Friday the 13th.

Halloween is my all-time favorite movie. If he ruins it, I will be royally pissed off. I love Rejects and HO1C, but remaking a true classic is a bit much for anyone.

alkytrio666 04-10-2007 12:44 PM

Well I, for one, think it looks awful. Rediculous. Flat out dumb.

In the trailer...Michael uses a baseball bat. A fucking baseball bat...

...think about that...

Halloween is my favourite horror film and my 3rd favourite film of all time (No matter how silly it sounds, it's behind Jurrasic park and hocus pocus) and I for one, do NOT agree with Michael using a baseball bat. I didn't notice it before you pointed it out. How can he use a baseball bat?! And when he's a child he looks like a girl.

Rob Zombie Calls out to fans

Zombie's newest blog:
Rob Zombie is really gearing up for his film as it is slowly coming together. With its debut on August 31st growing closer every passing day he has began to rally the troops. Here is a comment he just left on his official Halloween blog.

"Attention Michael maniacs the time has come!

Here's what I'm thinking on August 31 everyone should show up at their local theatre dressed as Michael Myers. We can do this! We can make this happen!

Imagine the shocked look on everyone's faces when the lobby is jammed with Michael maniacs! Show the world that Michael is back and ready to destroy!

Who's with me?"

So grab those William Shatner masks and get ready to invade a theater near you. I remember back when I went to see H20 in theater there were people all over the parking lot with masks on. It was really something to see. Lets create that same atmosphere.

Edit: Could a Mod please move this to upcoming, please ? Thanks.

Kane_Hodder 05-01-2007 07:06 AM

I just hope it doesn't disappoint and lives up to it's hype. The trailers look awesome and the film should be great.

gore, it thought me and you weren't old enough? That is...if you really are 13! Because it's an 18 film and i'm only 14, i'll just walk around town dressed as myers.

Just tell them your a midgit, and you have rights your not taking off that fucking mask. Which may lead to the cops being called, :D

Zero 05-02-2007 03:42 AM

personally, i thought the trailer looked like the kind of silly-editing nonsense that zombie did in House- which give me very little hope for this remake (or re-fake). i will not go see it on opening day unless the advance word is so amazing i cannot resist it.

bwind22 05-02-2007 05:55 AM

The jury is still out for me on this one... I could see Zombie totally losing the atmosphere from the first 2 Halloweens and thereby fucking this film up, but I could also see him putting his own super-gory twist on it without losing the atmosphere and fucking things up, so I guess I'll have to wait and see... Probably not dressed as Michael Myers though.

Ferret, are you able to see it with a parent or guardian? If so, then I say you just be a SUPER good kid around the house over the summer (like help out with chores when no one asks you to and do random nice things for your mom or dad, but ask for nothing in return) and then August 30th, when you've killed them with kindness and shown your maturity all summer, ask real nicely if your mom or dad would take you to see this movie that you have been waiting for. In general terms, (without knowing you or your parents at all) I'd say that'd have a pretty decent shot of working.

novakru 05-02-2007 06:10 AM

I am very curious to see what Zombie does with this film.
I think he will kick it up a notch
