Yeah, same here...only mine's closer to 4 hours. Really a shame.

GorePhobia 07-19-2008 11:49 AM

Closest to me is about two hours. We might take a drive up there a month from now to catch one....

fortunato 07-19-2008 12:20 PM

There's an Imax theater in Baltimore, but it only plays documentaries.

The_Return 07-19-2008 01:28 PM

They were supposed to build one about 10 minutes from my house, but they opened a giant Bargain Shop in the building instead.

Welcome to New Brunswick

Strongly recommended from me for anyone who likes finesse in cinema. I know its not a horror movie, but yet, its a MUST watch for any movie connoisseur.

I heard it was a little weak compared to Aronofsky's other films, but apparantly its good?

it's definitely not weak compared to his other films, it's just different.
i loved it, and i can't imagine how incredible it would have been had aronofsky not had to go through so much bullshit to get the thing made.

it's just an incredible fantastical tale about love, spanning a thousand years.
it's quite an epic scope, but it's perfectly understated so that it doesn't come off as being pretentious, or anything like that.

the visuals are stunning, and everything else is solid.

There's plenty suspense, distress, helplessness, and struggle. This film does not try to be anything but a home invasion film (i.e. it's just good pure suspense horror), but it does it extremely well. Scared the HELL out of me when I watched it. Good film to watch with all the lights off, though it made me want to get a landline and a security system.

Inside - A more gory version of the home invasion genre that creates possibly one of the most realistic and horrifying Big Bads that I have seen on screen. Where Ils made its success with suspense, Inside made its success with crafted gore that does not diverge into torture porn. It's suspenseful, excruciating, and has definitely raised the bar for what I come to expect from home invasion movies. Also, a very smart slasher that has more going on than simply stalking. I cannot emphasize how incredible this film really is.

Watched both of these during the time I was away from here, and I couldn't agree more. Both are excellent and very well done, and I recommend them very highly to anyone that still hasn't seen them.

Its driving me a little insane not being able to see [Rec], and we have had The Fountain here for months, and haven't watched it yet. Will do so very soon.

This movie has one of the most powerful, heartbreaking endings that I've ever seen, and I think anyone that has been in high school in the past few years should see it immediately.

It tells it's story in a similar fashion to Gus Van Sant's Elephant, but it works way better here.

The Flash (Live-Action TV Series)

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Flash_DVD.jpg

I've watched the 90-minute pilot (two episodes together) and the second (third) episode. It's amazing to believe it only lasted a season.

The_Return 08-01-2008 01:14 PM

I keep meaning to check out more of that series...I've only seen the pilot and I wasn't really blown away by it, but I certainly enjoyed it enough to want to see more. Cant find that damn set anywhere around here though...

Really? I was completely blown away by the pilot. Especially for it being on TV and just the pilot. I borrowed the copy I have now from a friend.

Oh, dont get me wrong - I really liked it. But the boring villain really took it down a notch for me - hence why I'd like to see more. With a good bad guy, it could be an awesome show for sure.

Hilti88NYC 08-02-2008 09:35 AM

I must reccomend:

-Subject Two ( asnt 100% thrilled with the ending, but it wasnt horrible )

-PERFUME ( great movie from begining to end )

Mark Hamill appears as The Trickster in episode 10 or 11. He's fucking nuts.

urgeok2 08-02-2008 11:02 AM

The Breakup.

not only very funny - but a dead on portrayal of the lack of communication between many men and women in relationships .. and how people are compelled to constantly do the wrong thing.

I dont think younger folks living at home will appreciate this as much as people who have lived through much of what is portrayed in the film.

Elvis_Christ 08-06-2008 08:07 PM

One of the best I've seen so far this year:

Glengary Glen Ross is an amazing film for fans of ACTING- everyone in the cast is superb- right down to the bit part Jonathan Pryce plays.

urgeok2 08-17-2008 01:10 PM

you have to take jack lemon with a grain of salt though.

he chews through scenery like wet tissue paper.
