Hellraiser was a fucking visual milestone. Nothing was being made like that at the time. There is still nothing that really rivals its style. It was so different from everything else coming out and IS one of the reasons of the 80's horror re-vamp. You can have your opinion about it, but you cannot deny its presence as a respected and powerful genre film.

I am with avenger on this.. Hellraiser is an original. During the time slasher flicks were being turned out by the dozens "hellraiser" came along and broke grounds. If anyone has watched the series of flicks you will see there is a story. Pinhead and all the other cenobites were made for a purpose.. Pinhead is a great character .. fucking awesome and original til this day nothing has been made that IMO would surpass him.

yah the new tcm is pretty good, the only thing i dont like is that it took away from the idea of how sick the cannibalistic family actually was....and that whole sob story of leatherface just wanting to be loved? blah theres no room for teenage angst in horror movies!

about pinhead, i dono, the movies themselves are good, but I just dont like Pinhead. He just doesnt seem threatening to me. And he talks. Freddy is the only killer that can talk dammit. I dont know, I respect the movies and all and its fans, I just dont find him threatening at all and kinda lame.

Freddy fucking talks and he sounds god damn retarted he makes dumb ass jokes and sounds lame, but you are a fan of him. that is the stupidest shit I have ever heard.. IMO a true horror fan would not dislike Pinhead or atleast the first movie.. people that truely know horror would know it is a great film . fucking fresh and is a huge milestone for horror. it can not be compared to the thousands of slasher flicks made in the 80`s because it is original and nothing has been made like it. NOTHING!!! so this is what I am saying to all the people that keep saying Pinhead is lame, which sounds dumb, you need to watch more horror..

Bellamorte I figured you would put some of your input on this thread, about pinhead... since you are a hellraiser fan....

Oh I haven't read much into what was happening but I gues I will explain why Pinhead appeals to me. I think it was the fact he was so jaded in his actions and he killed for the sake of pleasure and pain to the individual and how he just appears is most beautiful. I been fond of Pinhead since I was a kid.

But Hellraiser never scared me. I always wanted to marry him. Dang I was a sick kid lol...:D
