I haven't seen Ichi yet, but it's in the next 5-10 movies I have queued on Netflix so it won't be long now...


(Netflix is cool. I'm finding all sorts of stuff I've been having trouble getting my hands on.... Ichi, Toolbox Murders, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Cannibal Ferox and more! Netflix is A-OK in my book.)

Ichi is freakin' great (unrated version at least) but hey, if you're going to call a movie "ching chang" then you shouldn't watch it because it's subtitled which you would probably hate. Although... I guess you could watch it dubbed, or muted for that matter. Bah, just wait for the scene where, well, let's just say it's worse than shit and it hits the wall not the fan. I agree that Nitflix is GREAT. Netflix let me see Brazil again (don't own it yet :( ), decide Undead SUCKS, and it's letting me watch all these hard to find movies that I've been debating buying for a long time.

I dont see why everyone is always talking about how nasty it is though. other than the finger-breaking backwards scene and the needle through the bottom of the chin, it wasnt that bad. still a pretty good movie, but the ending was gay as hell.

No way! You cant say the torture scene was tame or when they sliced up that prostitute? I agree the ending was the weakest point of the film but it was still quality.

ya, but i remember when i first came here i asked for the goriest movies ever, and they put ichi up there. well, expecting a whole lot of gore, i was dissapointed.

I think there is a definite difference between gory and bloody, Ichi was bloody with a bit of intestine and random body parts thrown in. Its only gory if you see the full intevening process of complete person turning into mangled fleshy mess. Ichi didnt do that apart from the one cutting in half scene, it just showed the aftermath but if it had been any different it would have completely changed the type of film it is.

Awesome movie! has that "Riki-Oh" meets "Scarface" feel to it, down right dirty and sleazy and violent movie i say but nice gore.

That nipple scene was very remesience of the one from Lucio Fulci's The New York Ripper, i bet Takashi Miike got that idea from that movie.

No, I'm not racist. However, Middle Eastern horror has never interested me like it does some people. Ju-On was lame. So was Ringu.

At any rate, I didn't know if it followed the traditional patterns of a stereotypical Japanese horror film.

Well, it's not really a horror movie. It's a Yakuza film, taken to the furthest extreme of the genre. There's some gore, but it's not like Dead Alive or anything like that. What there is a lot of, however, is sadism. I think it's an excellent movie, just don't go into it expecting a horror film, because you'll certainly be disappointed.

I just bought this movie yesterday (not rated) Im pretty excitted to watch it tonight. It will be placed in my horror collection as it says on the box "action horror". But only about three more hours till i watch it.

I don't really consider it horror at all. It's more a yakuza/black comedy... just a rather weird, gory one. I love it myself. One of my favorites. Make sure you see the unrated version though. A friend of mine accidently bought the rated version and... ugh.

I agree I pimp Netflix all the time.. And dont worry the Ichi that Netflix has is not cut at all.. So you get to enjoy all of the brutality that is One the Killer!

I personally love this flic it is not for the faint of heart though it is very hard core and gory..

Netflix my boy Netflix has them all and there all uncut.. buy yourseld a DVD burner and own them all..Yes I am a pimp for Netflix.

Really good film, in fact ive never seen a bad film by Takashi except for his Psycho MPD movies, but if you liked Iche, you have to see his other movies like, Gozu ( my favorite ) and Audition, and Full Metal Yakuza.

Izo is nuts too, out of control. "Beat" Takishi is in it too WooT.

I guess it's a japanese horror movie well it was so weird, I totally loved the white haired guy with his pierced mount, so cool, but the movie was so fake, the blood was a little too red and because that it looked fake, I did like the story thou but every killing scene was a little too funny (or I'm just weird) was it a horror comedy?

Well when I'm going to the movies i find myself laughing with things other people seriously don't think it's funny, lol.

It´s more comedy than "Horror", i would say. More like a gory Tarantino movie.

Still havnt got round to seeing this yet, will maybe give it a go just for comedy factor if nothin else then,lol.

It´s definitely not for all tastes. It has a VERY weird and dark humor. Most people will just find it gross, i think.

i just thought it was unpleasant and exploitive ... and not the kind of exploitation i enjoy.

ichi the killer-brillant movie everybody must watch this-gory as hell and brutal with a good story and done by one of the best directors ever!
audition is also great just got the uncut version of that so damn good!
just ordered kairo but have heard only great things about it!

takashi miike fucking rocks!!!!

and battle royale is a must see for any movie fan really.

Yes Ichi was a cool movie, it had some inventive deaths and good gore but fell short on the plot side and had some really bad CGI.
