dude all I just got back from it and it was a really good movie. great cinamtography. it is like pulp fiction on mushrooms. but surely one of the best this year.
|
so crazy is it worth shelling out $9.00 to see it?
|
its fucking worth 18 dollars to see it
i would pay 20 dollars to see it its that good!! |
I didn't think it was the best, but I did think it was cool. neat concept, good colors, great hair.
|
the bruse willis part was pretty cool, when he beat that yellow guy down, and the cannible kid was pretty cool.
|
I thought the film was good.
I agree with the "excellent cinematography" comment. It was good to see a comic book film that remained "comic book-like". The story lines didn't entirely engross me, however. Perhaps it's because I've never read the graphic novels, and I'm just unfamiliar with the story and/or characters. Overall, worth a see on the big screen. |
Just got home from it. Loved it! Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez did an excellent job adapting it to the big screen but hanging on to the comic book feel.
The only thing I didnt like was Brittany Murphy's lack of acting ability. She was terrible but luckily for us she only had about ten minutes of screen time. Elijah Wood's character was great! A far cry from Frodo to be sure... I cant believe they put a star as big as him in a role without a single line! Kudos to him for taking the role though. Watching the movie made me want to go re-read all the comics again. |
arggggggghhhh.............. *frustrated growl*
anyone know when this will be coming out here ?? |

oh yeah btw bwind i think you won the bet against sam.....sin city made about 28 million and beauty shop only brought in about 17 million so Sin City was 3 million shy from doubiling what beauty shop made even though it came out 2 days early....congrats for the win bwind :)
Sin City #1 at the Box Office and I think that they could possibly have it for two weeks because I will see it atleast two more times since I have seen it 3 already :) and work of mouth should keep it alive! |

:D
I'm really glad it's doing so well. Hopefully this means that other really cool dark comics will see the silver screen. (Knowing Hollywood's tendency to bounce on anything that makes money, I'm sure that three or four of them have probably already went in to production since those weekend box office figures came out a couple hours ago.) I CAN NOT WAIT until they decide to make Preacher into a movie. The storyline for that series is by far the coolest I've ever read! |
Just got home from this flick.......I was impressed

All this chit chat about the film and i didnt even realize that Rodriguez directed it ! definately going to see it. Maybe the McFarlane Sin City figures I bought a few years ago might be worth some money now :D |

the placement of this movie on my top 100 means that Batman Begins could make the list and STILL not be as good, and I never expected it to make the list at all. Looks like I'll have been wrong twice in this thread

Go see it in the theatre you poser! ( ;) ) I'm sure it would be MUCH less enjoyable watching a bootleg in your living room. If you dont want a negative first impression of this movie, go cough up the $8 to see it the way it's meant to be seen. |
you really should, and it is aa movie you have to watch through to understand it.
|
just downloaded a 6 minute trailer, looks promising, gona have to wait till June for it to be in the cinema over here.

SSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people have told me to go see sin city, and that i will like it and have no complaints! and most of these people i trust to know how critical of movies i am.

i sure hope so ... Sin City was the real deal ... |
the cool thing was it was shot with a green set. not a single stage was proped for it, all computerized background.
|
rodriguez is totally plugged in .. he knows every aspect of the filmmaking process and has his hand in all of them ...
thats why his films are so good . he never loses control or loses vision to someone else he has to depend on. i hope he always stays that cool, and success doesnt change anything .. |
i think that marv was the best character in sin city.
he loves to hurt people, and loves pain. |
i finally finished it and well
am i the only one who thinks marv looks like the general from small soldiers |

I never would have thought of that |
