Has anyone ever seen "The Clonus Horror"? I think that s what it was. It was about people growing clones to harvest for body parts. A couple of them exscape their "home" (where they were bred and grown) to try and start a normal life.

Anyway, the chick gets lobotomized and the guy ends up captured and killed fior his heart or something. it was bad enough to be used as an MST3K movie. But, it actually did a decent job of showing how evil it would be to create a clone simply to use as a repository for fresh organs.

They would be people, just carbon copies. but i think once they were born, no matter how they were born, they would still be humans, and therefore be afforded the rights that all humans are in this country.'

I could see someone being clever and changing the genes just enough to make them "not human", but that would risk the recipient of the organs regecting the genetically different tissue and defeat the whole purpose.

I'm against full body cloning, say for example, a family looses young child through natural or unnatural circumstances, and wish that child be replecated as a new embrio with human intervention.... there are other examples but thats just a rough one.

On the other hand, If medical research found ways of using cloned genes, or what ever process is used, as a way of preventing future disease or abnornmalities in future offspring etc then I'm comfortable with knowing that this could be a way forward in fighting inherited problems.

How about a brain-dead clone? It should be possible to create clones that are complete vegetables with little to no frontal lobe, basically born lobotomized.

hey then they could be used in Zombie films.... no need for makeup and extras then, real life zombies, just need to chuck some blood over them for full effect.

Yeah... But who would take care of all these cloned vegetable humans? People act like it's a burden to take care of an ill grandparent, I don't see anyone rushing to spend their life caring for a vegetative being that was man made. What would be the point in this?

;)

I believe in certain aspects of cloning, such as cloning limbs and organs for implant and replacement. I DO NOT believe in cloning entire beings. There is just something horribly twisted about the thought of having another me running around. Unless they could make a female me... then I might be interested.
Agreed...
