first fulci film i ever saw was zombie at the age of 8. same goes for new york ripper, haven't seen that one in forever; i wouldn't mind taking a look at that one again. didn't really care too much for house by the cemetary or the beyond. i did however enjoy the gates of hell and don't torture a duckling. i don't remember if cat o' nine tails was his or argento. i want to say argento?

Love the guy. Lizard in a Woman's Skin is likely his best, but its a tough choice.

The Black Cat - Lucio Fulci The Four of the Apocalypse, Don't torture a Duckling, A Lizard in a Woman's Skin, One on Top of the Other and City of the Living Dead are some of my favorites. I like all of his ficks... but I prefer his Gialli over his gore films. Too bad he didn't make more thrillers. |
I've just started watching his films, so far I've seen:
Zombi 2 City of the Living Dead The Beyond The House by the Cemetery I love this man's work. I can't believe it took me until now to really discover and get into this stuff. The Beyond is amazing, the surreal and irrational nature of hell. |
Last Fulci I watched was The Eroticist. Great fun and it has some of his best cinematography, the dream sequences looked really cool. Not as OTT as I was expecting but well worth a watch if you're interested in his output outside of horror.
