I can see "boring," given a person's interest in sports, but I'm curious as to what makes it "stupid."

Dull, dull, dull. I keep up with the results to see how we're doing but never watch anything. And seriously, the logo for the 2012 one is an embarrasment.

I am fascinated by people striving for greatness. Also a huge fan of people from across the globe coming together in the spirit of peace and competition... so I love it.

I am an avid anti-sports type... but the Olympics have always fascinated me since I was a child. I love them for just the reasons you state. I'm a bit saddened by the cynical hipster attitude many exhibit, but I guess that's the prevailing attitude these days.
