You're right but it was still based off of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein so anything after it was still a sort of re-imagining/remake.

I'm sure you've seen a few remakes without knowing they were remakes.

I can't believe there's a horror fan out there that hasn't seen The Thing nor can I believe you haven't seen a version of Frankenstein after 1910.
i've seen films based on well-known novels which inspired a lot of films. but none of these can be considered as "remake" like A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 or Friday the 13th 2009. take "The Count of Monte Cristo" as example. a partial list of adaptations > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cou...sto_%28film%29

You haven't seen a film on either of those lists?

benim 11-03-2009 07:19 AM

it's a quite long list so i can't look at them one by one. anyway, after i decide to see a film, i check if it's remake or not [i already explained my definition of a remake]. if it's a remake, then i see the original one. some originals i watched;

Black Christmas (1974) | Remade with same name (2006)
Funny Games (1997) | Remade as "Funny Games U.S." (2008)
Insomnia (1997) | Remade with same name (2002)
Nattevagten (1994) | Remade as "Nightwatch" (1997)
A Nightmare on Elm Street series
Friday the 13th series
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre series

Just saying not to immediately jump in and say you've never watched a remake. Personally I check out both, but then again, I'm not closed minded.

The Departed was a remake? Or were just just being sarcastic... :confused:

do you use second hand wheels which were already used before?

being close-minded is something else. like refusing to see film because of its country of origin, an actor/actess playing etc.
