I know you have to run 3 miles and then do a bunch of crunches and I think 20 pull-ups. You shouldn't be too far off. :)

You should try to get stationed in Hawaii. One of my friends in the Army was stationed there and said it was amazing. He went surfing every morning. :)

Everyone tries to get stationed in Hawaii! Don't count on it. Be prepared to end up deployed to a dusty far away place with angry people who speak a funny language and who will occasionally shoot at you.

I was in the army... I never did anything spectacular. While I was in I had a chance to get reassigned to a Ranger battalion. They had a slot reserved for me and everything. Not taking that opportunity is the biggest regret of my life, I've always wondered how I would do.

I say do it. It's the kind of thing you can only do once, while you're young and crazy.

I think being asked to shoot and kill people would be the deal breaker for me.

I say join a branch like Army, Navy, or Airforce. Not a big fan of Marines and I know a couple Army guys who, over in the desert, got a bad rap for some of the shit they pulled.

Well I'm not really going to put myself in a position where I work in a job where the locals are trying to kill me..

I have deep respect for everyone or anyone that defends their country. While average people die and are seldom remembered, these troops die as heroes. Whether they were victorious or not, they put their lives on the line and I think that alone makes you heroic.

LOL, I wish I was dirty right now. No reason to give up something you love just to get shot at.
