I'm not really afraid of spiders anymore, but these guys terrify the hell out of me:

Brown Recluse. One big part of it is that i have an intense fear of being disfigured (a big part of the reason after 4 years I quit being a wood worker). These guys can cause necrosis in the bite area, and the flesh literally dies and rots off of you; ther eis no known antivenom.

There was also a story on one of the discovery channel/national geographic channel specials i saw on them where one fell out of a tree and bit a 12 year old girl and she died from it. Being the father of a little girl, that is a horrifying thought.

im a brown recluse spider slayer, i've literally killed like fifteen in hand to hand combat. i can remember two times where the spider actually jumped on me. right on my arm, then the other on my hand. i think there following me, i have found one under my comforter of my bed waiting for me. when i made it, it lifted its arms and was trying to punk me out. he's dead now.....i'll keep fighting the good fight against these creatures untill i die or they find somone better....

Worst spiders we have here are the harmless garden spiders. They grow quite big and move fast but other than that they're not bad. Although I did scream and jump out of bed when one crawled across my face. And then the week later when I was drying off after a bath and it dropped from the ceiling onto my chest. I think they wanted vengeance for when I tortured their friend by putting it in the freezer (in sealed container) for half an hour, then dropping it into scoulding water, then handing it over to my cat. Boredom does funny things to people.

Heh, just read that. It was meant to be a short post but it kind of trailed off.

Not knowing if there is life after death or you are just gone forever.

OK, i typically find garden spiders (orb weavers) fascinating, and they are typically very pretty and usefull, but holy jesus, i would piss myself if i saw that thing.

Apparently this and a few other pics of it are legit, and its BIG AS A MAN'S HAND...

Even a small man's hand is huge for a spider...

Ladybugs. I shudder to think about them.

I saw the news story about that thing shortly before Halloween, which was actually perfect timing for a good scare. :) I kept thinking, holy crap if something like that got into your house, how would you even kill it? I mean, it's not like you could just step on it. It makes me shudder to just think about it. But yet, I couldn't stop looking at the pictures of it. :D
