the dark crystal has some killer plants in it...or maybe they didn't actually KILL anyone...but they were threatening...do threatening plants count? :p

I completely agree that Evil Dead is in my opinion the best cult movie out there. But that's because Sam Raimi's troupe is darn likeable.

Evil Dead is a great classic. In my opinion probably the other best horror made next to The Exorcist. I will be very interested to see what a remake looks like. Especially with the great advancement of technology compared the effects used in the early 80's.

Those effects are part of its charm. I cannot imagine The Evil Dead without em.
Is Bruce Campbell gonna be in it?

I stand corrected.

Jumanji has killer plants. My mom GROWS killer plants.

Bruce Campbell is just a producer I think. I agree that the lack of technology is what made that film a cult classic. Especially the scenes where Bruce "Ashe" runs away from the deadite and the audience can see the tops of each of the walls and the stage ceiling. It is a great movie, but the remake is not going to be able to hold a candle. That is why I will try to think of it like it's own movie. It'll be easier to digest it.

After looking at this thread I decided it was about time I finally saw this movie. I usually don't care for demon movies, but this one was fantastic! And as silly as some of the effects are, they definitely give the movie a large part of its appeal.

I agree that Evil Dead is the one of the only remaining cult classic
