Hooray! :D

@Freak
Yeah, Quarantine came out a few weeks ago, I saw that. It was okay, but the "heroine" got on my nerves. I heard the original was so much better, so looking forward to it.

Shouldn't this be in the Upcoming Horror movies section of the forum?

I was actually impressed with that movie. But I agree - Our heroine was laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

And I STILL need to see the original! :mad: :mad:

Seriously. I thought she would step up, but there was just so much crying and whining. I think if she had taken a little more action and asserted herself more, I would have been more impressed with the film overall. It started off nice though.

Allow me to be a very bad horror fan here for a sec - but I'm honestly not looking forward to this.

[REC] is a movie that has no need for a sequel. Although the viewer is left with a ton of unanswered questions, that's half of the appeal. It's a classic rule of horror: the more you know about what's going on, the less scary it becomes. Besides, I'm having a hard time figuring out how they plan to plausibly continue the story without ruining a significant part of the original's ending.

I'll likely still give it a look at some point because the first one is a modern horror masterpiece...but I wont be joining the countdown.

Hmmm.... Not sure on the sequel. I just watched the original Spanish version a few days ago, and enjoyed it.

Though admittedly it seemed like they just mixed the Blair Witch Project with 28 Days Later, and made a movie that way. It worked quite well though I thought, and was pleasantly surprised.

Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza's "Rec 2" will open the 42nd Sitges Intl. Film Festival of Catalonia, Europe's biggest genre pic devotee confab.

A strong international seller and genre cult item, "Rec" inspired a U.S. remake, the Screen Gems-produced "Quarantine," helmed by John Erick Dowdle.

Again produced by Barcelona-based mini-major Filmax Ent., the eagerly awaited "Rec 2" picks up "Rec's" story 15 minutes later.
