On another note, i watched the 4th one the other night. Absolute, bollocks. They NEVER should've killed off cook or grandpa. And i don't remember the brother in the first one dying either...

The family is always in a different location with each sequel. In the prequel they live in the same place as the Remake, so a survivor could have had them caught.

fair enough

This started off kinda cheesy but it turned into a monster. I really dug it.

Are you saying they were never caught because they kept moving house?

Well they hadn't been caught yet and in each movie there was a survivor and they were in a different location.

I really liked it when I first saw it at the theatre. Then I bought the DVD and watched it again and it didn't do much for me. There were a lot of "gotcha scenes" I thought the first time so it didn't surprise me the 2nd time. Good to have for the collection though.

i like the way leatherface isn't some agile, clever, fearless hunter. He's an obese dude with a chainsaw who get's bullied. Although, be the forth film, i thought the whole transvestite and high pitched scream got a bit weird...

Sure this one had its moments...

...but as this is a prequel to a remake of TCM, one can't help but compare. Well, the remake had its moments, too. For me it boils down to the simple fact that they completely missed the point. This one being some kind of explanation of the origins of TCM and especially Leatherface, it's ridiculous at best.

Yet forgetting all about the TCM-angle, this is OK.

Hows it so ridiculous, what do you think the origins are then?

AngelDust24 09-04-2007 03:52 PM

Me?
Loved it...
One of the few horror DVDs (yeah, right) that I bought last year.
As you know (or not) I work with film all the time, watching new releases and such...
This made an impact...
I liked it...:D
Argue all you want, it was suppose to be a prequel...
How the hell would someone escape from 'that' and the police wouldn't find them? Hmmmm?
