An intelligent wit, Baron-Cohen exposes racists and bigots beautifully - sometimes they may need a little coaxing ("Black slave was good for the white man... yes?") but he gets some eye-opening results, particularly from places like backwoods America.

The pictures of his wife ("Now she is dead.") and sister in various pornographic poses are very funny, and like he says in the new Rolling Stone, Borat shows up ignorant people who think Kazakhstanis really are misogynist morons fond of incest.

Another vote for finding him annoying and not getting his "comedy." If he was really from Kazakhstan, it would probably be funny. As it is, he just comes across as trying way too hard. Then again, I don't get the whole Ali G thing either.

That's an interesting comment since he's British.

Borat is a funny char. but I prefer Ali G and don't really dig Bruno. I wish they'd do a big Ali G movie before Bruno but I can wait. I haven't seen Borat now so I won't pass judgement but I find it hard to believe that even a good, funny movie can be AS good as the hype it's getting.

You didn't get this one? It was the character in a "movie", pretty funny, but his interviews are where the gold lies.
As Ali, and ad Borat, I think he brings up some interesting points of view, and quite often there's a lot of truth in what he says...it's over the top, and subtle at the same time. Those that only see it for the immediate appearance probably WON'T enjoy it...Sure, there's definately some stupidity there...but I'd challenge anyone to sit through any eps. of the Ali G show (Borat segment included) and not find at least something they agree with.
I think that Sacha's been improving over the last few years, and that he'll write some truly memorable comedy in the years to come.

this really exposes the nonsensicalness (is that a word if so sp.) of ferretchucker's posts on this topic. Dude is doing the shit to point out the humour in people's ignorance and their willingness to feign it. that's what all of his characters are about on his show. i didn't like the first show I saw but after watching a couple more he is totally a breath of fresh air in the total stagnant state of being of television.

Havent seen the movie, but my GF said it was "pretty funny in some parts but i didn't like the whole thing" Me reads into that " i will love it"
