I liked it for the beginning and the historical/analysis of Jason and his deathportfolio/body count and the idea about his regeneration ability...enjoyed that...wanted someone to self destruct the ship after 15 minutes...haven't seen it in awhile, was the military team leader the same guy from Res. Evil 1?

Commando "Hey Bennett...let off some steam."
Who can't love the Porsche chase seen where the door is smashed, not smashed, smashed, not smashed...and smashed again? And the clearly visible wire attached to the guys leg while Arnold is holding him up by the foot...That's cheese-and true cardboard people getting blown up, but half of them still standing...man that movie is the Nachos of cheese.;)

I would have to say it is one of the worst in the series.I guess it's still a slasher.I didn't really find much humor in it.Did a good job of putting me to sleep though.

I don't like "silly" horror movies, I watched like 10 minutes of it.

It is also the silliest/campiest installment of the franchise. The sleeping bag scene, the liquid nitrogen face-smash, the nanobots...inspired lunacy!

The wife was pointed out that Jason X was all comedy and, as such, no longer existed in the horror genre and doesn't quite count as a true slasher flick.

What do you say?

thats cool i though that movie was supposed to be a god awful piece of shit all around, but its cool that someone is finding some good in it. i might check it out.

It wasn't even silly until at least 20 minutes in...
I even sit through bad movies (usually) just to get the whole experience. Maybe something really cool happens in the film later... or maybe not but at least I looked for it.

generally speaking when you send character to space, thats the end of that franchise..its the "final frontier" for our horror big dogs..it was very sci-fi orginal movie-esque but if you enjoy cheese then its good for a laugh..or for MST3K style poking fun :D

This was the second worst one in the series next to VIII, come on Jason in space. The idea in itself is rediculous. Besides it takes strays away from the original reason Jason kills, he kills people who come to Crystal Lake.
Then the idea to turn him into Terminator Jason was even dumber.
Then you've got the android that beats-up Jason, I mean there were alot of stupied comedic things going on in this movie.

If the producers were smart they would have made Jason in the snow b/c thats what the die hard fans have been wanting for years. I still say they should make that.

so jason x was the 'jumping the shark' point in the franchise then ?

I found this while looking up some Jason info.

1930
Pamela Voorhees (maiden name unknown) is born. (According to tombstone in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter)
1935
Camp Crystal Lake is established. (Sign in Friday the 13th)
1945
Fifteen year-old Pamela becomes pregnant by Elias Voorhees.
[Based on Pamela's age, Jason may have been conceived out of wedlock.]
1946
June 13 - Jason Voorhees is born to sixteen year-old Pamela Voorhees.
(Date from Friday the 13th, year from Jason Goes to Hell)
1954
[guess] - Diana Voorhees is born to Elias Voorhees and an unidentified woman.
[In Friday the 13th, Pamela calls Jason her "only child." Whether Pamela and Elias divorced - unlikely because she retains her married name - Diana is not her biological child.]
1957
Summer - Jason purportedly drowns in Crystal Lake, but his body is never recovered. (Year from Friday the 13th)
1958
June 13 (Friday) - Two camp counselors murdered at Camp Crystal Lake. The murders go unsolved for 21 years. (Friday the 13th prologue. Date from Enos)
1959-
1961
[guess] - Attempts to reopen Camp Crystal Lake met with arson. The arsonist (Pamela) was never captured. (Enos in Friday the 13th)
1962
[guess] - Attempt to reopen Camp Crystal Lake halted by "bad" (poisoned?) water.
(Enos in Friday the 13th)
1972
[guess] - Eighteen year-old Diana Kimble (daughter of Elias Voorhees), gives birth to Jessica Kimble.
1979
June 13 (Friday) - Steve Christy spends $25,000 in an attempt to reopen Camp Crystal Lake. He and six of his counselors are killed by Pamela Voorhees. Only Alice, a female counselor, survives by decapitating Mrs. Voorhees. (Friday the 13th) [June 13, 1979, isn't a Friday. But Friday the 13th gives the date as June 13th, and Final Chapter gives the year of Pamela's death as 1979.]

August - Alice returns to Crystal Lake to face her fears. Jason sneaks into her house and stabs her in the temple with an icepick. Her body disappears. (Friday the 13th Part 2 prologue. Paul says Alice disappeared two months after the events of the original)
1982
Summer - Teenaged Chris flees from her family's Crystal Lake cabin into the woods after a fight. She is attacked by Jason Voorhees but passes out. When she awakens, she is back home in her own bed, and her parents will not speak of the matter. (Friday the 13th Part 3 flashback)
1984
July 7-8 - Five years after Pamela Voorhees' murder spree, Paul Holt opens a counselor training camp adjacent to Camp Crystal Lake. After murdering several counselors, Jason is confronted by Ginny. She hits him in the shoulder with a machete but he survives, attacks her and kills Paul. Alice's dried corpse is found in Jason's shack. (Friday the 13th Part 2)

July 9-11 - Jason kills two people near Crystal Lake and gets a new outfit. He then makes his way toward the summer home "Higgins Haven" and kills several vacationing teenagers. Chris survives to hit Jason in the head with an axe, but she goes insane the next morning after an hallucination of Mrs. Voorhees. (Friday the 13th Part 3)

July 11-13 (Friday) - Jason's body is taken to the Wessex County Morgue, from which he escapes. After returning to Crystal Lake and killing several people, Jason is killed by 12 year-old Tommy Jarvis. This unbalances Tommy, who spends the next four years in mental institutions. Jason's body is buried in secret at Eternal Peace Cemetery. (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter)
1985
[guess] - In an attempt to disassociate itself from Jason Voorhees, Crystal Lake changes its name to Forest Green.
1987
Summer - Tommy, looking quite mature for 15, is moved from an institution to a halfway house for troubled teenagers. The son of ambulance attendant Roy Burns is killed by one of the kids and Roy, masquerading as Jason, methodically kills the others. Tommy is forced to kill Roy, further affecting his mental state. Tommy attacks Pam, one of the survivors, but is subdued and returned to an institution. (Friday the 13th Part V)
1988
May 12-13 (Friday) - Tommy, now a grown-up 16-year-old, is released from the mental institution. When he digs up Jason's grave, intending to cremate him, Jason is reanimated by a bolt of lightning. Jason kills his way toward Camp Forest Green, which is once again attempting to open its doors to campers. Tommy drowns Jason in Lake Forest Green (Crystal Lake) and the camp is shut down permanently. (Friday the 13th Part VI)
1989
October 13 (Friday) - John Shepard is killed when his 13 year-old daughter Tina uses her telekinetic powers to collapse the dock on which he is standing. Tina is sent to a mental hospital. (Friday the 13th Part VII prologue)
1993
October 13 (Friday) Stephanie Kimble, daughter of Jessica Kimble and Steven Freeman, is born.

August 13 (Friday) - Tina Shepard, now 17, returns to Crystal Lake with her mother and her psychiatrist, Dr. Crews. Tina accidentally raises Jason with her telekinesis, and he goes on another murderous rampage. Tina finally forces Jason back into the lake. (Friday the 13th Part VII)

[guess] - After failing to attract new residents, Forest Green gives up and returns to the name Crystal Lake to capitalize on being the site of the Voorhees murders. The city restores "Camp Crystal Lake" signs to the defunct property.
1994
May 6-7 - The final class of Lakeview H.S. graduates. A boat in Crystal Lake drags an electrical cable to Jason's body, reanimating him. He boards the boat, which floats downriver to harbor where Jason leaves it for the S.S. Lazarus. Jason kills many of the passengers, with most of the rest drowning when the boat sinks. The next morning, the ship's debris is found several miles from New York. Two survivors from the accident are found in the city; they inform the authorities that Jason Voorhees is responsible for the murders and the Lazarus' destruction. (Friday the 13th Part VIII)

May 8-12 - The FBI investigates the Lazarus' destruction and search the New York sewers for Jason's body. Not finding it, they plan a sting operation in Crystal Lake.
[guess based on Jason Goes to Hell]

May 13 (Friday) - Jason's body is blown apart in an FBI ambush. During the autopsy, his evil heart possesses the coroner (who eats it). He heads back to Crystal Lake. (Jason Goes to Hell)

May 20-21 - Bounty hunter Creighton Duke makes a statement on tabloid TV program "American Casefile" that Jason is still alive. Jason hops from body to body, committing a series of murders in Crystal Lake before being "reborn" then killed by his 22 year-old niece, Jessica Kimble. (Jason Goes to Hell)
2002
September - Dream-killer Freddy Krueger resurrects Jason to create fear among the teenagers of Springwood. But Jason is not so easily controlled and doesn't stop killing the teens Freddy needs to give him power. A battle between the two ensues and finds Jason battered and bloody... but victorious. (Freddy vs. Jason. Year - construction site sign says Occupancy Spring 2004. Month - Trees are green and the corn stalks are full-grown.)
2008-
2009
[guess] - After his capture and conviction of hundreds of murders, Jason Voorhees is sentenced to death - a sentence the government finds difficult to carry out. (Jason X)
2010
The Crystal Lake Research Facility (built to house and study Jason) is reduced to a skeleton crew in anticipation of the cryogenic suspension of its subject. Jason nearly escapes, but is frozen by Project Leader Rowan (who is trapped in the cryogenic chamber as well). (Jason X)
2455
August 13 - After the ecological collapse of the Earth, a class on a field trip from Earth 2 returns and discovers the frozen bodies of Rowan and Jason. They are brought back to the Grendel, where Rowan is resuscitated by the students. Jason isn't, but wakes up anyhow. The Marines and students onboard the ship prove little match for Jason - except for the android KM-14, who nearly obliterates him. Unfortunately, nano-technology repairs Jason and he resumes his single-minded quest to kill the remaining students. Brodski, the Marine Sergeant, sacrifices himself to carry Jason into Earth 2's atmosphere. (Jason X)
