I worked with Sam Firstenberg on a small movie a while back, and when I found out about the project I thought, "Hot damn! I'll get him to sign my rare laserdisc of BREAKIN' 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!" At that time, the movie hadn't come out on DVD yet, and when he saw the disc he just flipped and started talking about the different video releases, about the stereo sound mix, and other geeky things.

I am not an autograph geek...I have collected very very few autographs over the years. But the idea of getting the BREAKIN' 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO signed was too weird. I had to do it.

You need to move to hollywood. I saw Lance Henricksen at the Bob's Big Boy today and then Ray Harryhausen at the bookstore a couple of blocks away!

i'm definately love the autograph thing at the festival of fear .. but its nore to be able to chat while you have your couple of minutes ..

its just so unique (for me) meeting the people who's films i've watched time and time again.

a chance to say thanks too ... these guys have provided me with a lot of good times..

but you wouldnt want to bug them while they're trying to do their thing .. at the cons they appreciate being bugged because its $$$ and/or exposure for them..

Actually Harryhausen was doing a signing and I got him and Don Glut to autograph a copy of a documentary DVD called the SciFi Boys.

i almost met him last summer .. he had a gig here in toronto (some sch-fi author con) that i went to for the sole purposes of seeing a musician.

(providing a live soundtrack to The Lost World)

Harryhausen was going to introduce the film but he had to cancel ... damn shame.

Oh yes. For Harryhausen I will make an exception, and I did, actually, a few months ago.

I had never had a chance to meet him, and wanted to after all this time, so I went down to where one of the things was happening. It was a thrill because his hands did all that animation for most of his films...he didn't bring in assistant animators, really, until the later films. So when I look at his signature I think, wow.
